Meet at the ticket gate of Higashi Agano Station at 10:00AM or at the front car of the 8:50 train at Ikebukuro.

From Ikebukuro Station, take the Seibu Ikebukuro Line train (express) at 8:50AM to Hanno Station (arriving at 9:37) and change there to the Seibu Chichibu Line (just across the platform), leaving at 9:43 . This arrives at Higashi Agano station at 9:58 .

Walking time – about 4 hours – Higashi Agano Station – Mt Bukken – Mt. Hiwada – – Kinchakuda (fields of Cosmos & Chrysallis) – Alishan Organic Restaurant – Koma Station

This hike finishes off at Kinchakuda (a beautiful field of Cosmos & Chrysallis) and you can eat at the Organic Natural food restaurant “Alishan.”

Bring your lunch and plenty of liquids.

Shinagawa Station 09:48am Keikyu line – Yokohama (arriving at 10:06) and change to the Negishi Line (leaving Yokohama at 10:12) – Kounandai Station (arriving at 10:34)
        
Please wear good shoes for about a 3 hour walk and bring some food and drink. 

The donation will be donated to the people who live in the Tohoku area affected by the earthquake.

In an information forum (4 desks and 30 chairs), we will do a Japanese version of the “Trade Game,” originally made by the U.K. NGO “Chistian Aid.” The materials give us an understanding of the North-South unequal structure. We make a product from resources and experience its development process, with members expressing their different opinions through the simulation activities of selling and buying. After the game, we will talk about the trade friction problem. (In Japanese and English)

FUTAGOTAMAGAWA – TODOROKI GORGE HIKE & GARBAGE CLEAN-UP (

Meet at 10:30 at Futagotamagawa station (on the Toukyuu Denentoshi Line) ticket gate.

From Shibuya, take the 10:16AM Toukyuu Denentoshi Line train to Futagotamagawa (arriving at 10:27). We will hike from there to Todoroki (visiting temples and shrines along the way), then go through Todoroki Gorge (a beautiful Gorge in Setagaya Ward, believe it or not), down to the Tama River, and up the river back to FutagoTamagawa. On the riverside, we will pick up garbage (so bring a garbage bag or two) while hanging out there.

From Shinjuku, take the  Keio Line (Semi-Express) train at 10:30AM  and get off at Bubaigawara Station, arriving at 10:54AM, and change to the 10:57 local train, taking it to Nakagawara.. It arrives at 10:59 and we’ll meet at the ticket gate there at 11:00AM
 
People going from Shinjuku Station can meet at the front end of the train at 10:25, or meet at Bunbaigawara’s ticket gate at 10:55.

Course: Shomaru Station – Old Shoumaru Pass – Nagaiwa Pass – Shomaru Station

Walking Time: about 4 hours

>From Ikebukuro, take the Seibu Ikebukuro (Express) Line’s 9:05AM train (going towards Hanno) and get off at Hanno Station, arriving at 10:01AM. Change to the 10:04 Seibu Chichibu Line train, and get off at Shomaru (arriving at 10:34). Make sure to get on this train as we cannot wait for the next one. We’ll meet at the ticket gate there at 10:35AM.

Meet on the front of the 9:05 train at Ikebukuro if you want to go from there. David will get on this train from Tokorozawa Station.

2 Rapeseed Blossom Hot Spots & Mt. Oogusu Hiking!

(Bring your own food and drink for the hike)

We will meet at the ticket gate of Kinugasa Station at 10:30AM. From Shinbashi, take the JR Tokaido Line train (going towards Odawara) at 9:07. This arrives at Totsuka at 9:42. Change at Totsuka and get on the 9:45 JR Yokosuka Line train (going towards Zushi), arriving at Zushi at 10:02. At Zushi, change to the JR Yokosuka Line train (going towards Kurihama) leaving at 10:10 and arriving at Kinugasa Station at 10:25.

If you want to ride with David and others, please get on the front car of the 9:45 Yokosuka Line train at Totsuka.

Hiking Course: Kinugasa Station – Kinugasa Park – Mt. Oogusu – Koyasu no Sato Park – Zushi Station (by bus or on foot)
The hike itself is about 5 hours.

Both Mt. Oogusu and Koyasu no Sato are famous for their rapeseed blossoms during this time of year.

Chigasaki – Enoshima Hike/Capoeira/Garbage Clean-up/Beach Fun (Swimming)

To celebrate Ocean Day, we’ll have a beach garbage clean up and a Capoeira workshop organized by Bantus (http://jp.bantus.org).

This event is non-smoking.

Bring your own beverages and lunch.

We meet at Chigasaki Station (on the JR Tokaido Line) at 10:30AM.
Take the 9:19AM Odakyu Line train from Shinjuku (going towards Fujisawa). This arrives at Fujisawa at 10:17AM. Switch to the 10:22 JR Tokaido train going to Chigasaki, arriving there at 10:29.

Leszek will get on the front car of the Odakyu Line train at Shimokitazawa (so ride there if you want to go together) and on the front car of the Tokaido Line train at Fujisawa.

COURSE:
Chigasaki Station – Chigasaki Beach – Tsujido Nishi Hama (Frisbee, Garbage Clean-up, Beach fun) – Tsujido Kaihin Park (Capoeira Session) – Kugenuma Kaigan station (Sunset & Party)

From Shinjuku, take the Special Holiday Express train going towards Okutama (it’s the Chuo Line but may be on another track which is not the main Chuo Line track – BE CAREFUL!) to Okutama (leaving Shinjuku at 8:47 and arriving at Okutama at 10:24). 

David will be at the Okutama Station ticket gate at 10:27  to bring you to the supermarket and the river. We’ll hike to Shiromaru (about 1.5 hours), where we will meet others for a BBQ, canoeing, and swimming.  Very laid back day!!! (The supermarket in Okutama doesn’t have much so feel free to bring food for the BBQ from Tokyo.)

12:30 – 2:00PM –  Walk along the Arakawa River to Kasai Rinkai Park using English
2:00 – 4:30 – Fun in the Park (Birdwatching with Sammy & see the sunset over the bay)
 
Do something good for the environment and join the garbage pick-up. Or meet at the station at 12:30 to join the walk (using English) and one of the best parks in Tokyo, Kasai Rinkai Park, on the Tokyo Bay (eating, drinking, birdwatching, walking around, whatever you want to do).  Bring food/drinks/games, or you can buy things at the food stands in the park.

Mt. Oyama And Beyond for Intermediate hikers
(Participation Fee 1000 yen) (Cancelled in case of rain)

Getting there: Meet at Isehara Station (Odakyu Line) ticket gate at 8:55am. From Shinjuku Station take the 7:50am Odakyu Line Express towards Odawara, arriving at Isehara at 8:52.
      (Oleksiy and Guy will get on the front carriage of the train at Shimokitazawa)
      We’ll be taking a bus at 9:05 to the Mt. Oyama hike starting point.
After the hot springs, we’ll be returning by bus to Hon-Atsugi station.

Hike course: Up and over the back of Mt. Oyama, along a mystery ridge, down beside a stream, onto a road, through a long dark tunnel and down to the very pleasant Nanosawa Onsen. A varied and interesting course.

From Shinbashi Station, take the 9:18 Tokaido Line Rapid train (going towards Atami) to Kouzu Station, arriving at 10:23.

People going from Shinbashi Station can meet at the front end of the train at 9:18.

Course: JR Tokaido Line Kouzu Station – Gokoku Pass Agricultural Path – Soga Plum Blossom Park – JR Gotemba Line Shimo Soga Station

We will meet at the Chichibu Railway’s BushuuNakagawa Station’s ticket gate at 10:10AM or on the front car of the Seibu Ikebukuro Line at Ikebukuro Station at 8:05AM. Take the 8:05AM Seibu Ikebukuro Line express train (going towards MitsumineGuchi) at Ikebukuro Station. This arrives at Chichibu Station at 9:48 and becomes the Chichibu Railway. Stay on this train, leaving at 9:57 and arriving at BushuuNakagawa Station at 10:07. Be sure to arrive by this time since we will be unable to wait for the next train.

Actual walking time is about 4.5 hours.

Morning Course:
Meet at 9:03 at the Kitami Station (on the Odakyuu Line) ticket gate.
COURSE: Kitami Station → Kitami Playground Area → Walk along the Nogawa River → Eianji Temple → FutagoTamagawa Station

Afternoon Program
Meet at 12:00 Noon at the FutagoTamagawa station (on the Tokyuu DenenToshi Line) ticket gate.

COURSE: Futagotamagawa Station → Uenomou Nature Park → Temples and Shrines → Tama River (We’ll eat and hang out on the riverbank) → Todoroki Gorge → Todoroki Station

Meeting Place and Time: Exit 3 (South Exit) of Komagome Station (on the JR Yamanote Line or Nanboku Line) at 15:00
 
The program is ¥1000 and includes explanations of places along the way in English. Everyone is requested to use English only for the first hour. After that, people may speak in their preferred language, but David will use only English during the walk (until arriving at Kyuu Furukawa Garden).

15:00 – 15:30 – Walk to Rikugien (English Only Please)

15:30 – 17:00 –  Rikugien

17:00 – 17:30 -Walk to KyuuFurukawa Garden

17:30 – 18:30 – Enjoy the Rose Festival and light Light Up in the Garden

We meet at Miyanohira Station at 10:15AM. Take the 9:09AM Oume Line  Express train (it’s a Chuo Line train that goes all the way to Oume) from Shinjuku Station. This arrives at Ome Station at 10:07.  Go across the platform and take the 10:09 train towards Okutama. This train arrives at MiyanoHira Station at 10:12. Be sure to arrive by this time since we will be unable to wait for the next train.
 
Meet on the front of the 9:09 train at Shinjuku if you want to go from there there. David will get on the first car of the same train at Nakano Station.
 
Hiking Course – Miya no Hira Station – Oume Ridge Hiking Course – Shiofune Goddess of Mercy & KasumiKyuuryou Nature Park (22,000 Spider Lillies) – Kama no Fuchi Park (swim on the Tama River) – Oume Station

Today’s hiking is about 4 hours. 
 
Please wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots), bring a lunch to eat on the mountain, and plenty of liquids.

Meet at the ticket gate of Akigawa Station (on the Itsukaichi Line) at 9:58AM.  
From Shinjuku, take the Chuo Line (Special Express going towards Takao) at 8:54, arriving at Kokubunji Station at 9:14AM.  Change to the 9:16 JR Chuo Line train (going towards Oume), and take it to Haijima (arriving at 9:36). Change in Haijima to the JR Itsukaichi Line, leaving Haijima at 9:46 and arriving at Akigawa Station at 9:55.
David will get on the front of the Itsukaichi Line train at Haijima at 9:46AM.

Course: Akigawa Station – SummerLand Family Park’s Hydrangea Park – Akigawa Hill Course – Mt. Benten – MusashiItsukaichi Station

We’ll look for swimming places along the river so, if you want to swim, please bring your swimsuit.

Walking Time: about 4 hours

The program is ¥1000. Everyone is requested to use English only for the first hour. After that, people may speak in their preferred language, but Kijin will use only English until 16:00.

13:00 – 14:00 – Walk through Tokyo University Campus
14:00 – 14:30 –  Walk to Ueno Park
14:30 – 15:30 -See the lotus flowers at Shinobazu Pond and the food stands in Ueno Park
15:30 – 16:00 – Ameyoko Shopping Road
16:00 – Finish
