JAMBO will provide barbecue equipment, food (fish, vegetables and snacks) and soft drinks in the park. People should bring their own alcohol (which you can buy at the convenient store near Shin Kiba Station). Benches are sparse, bring blankets. Reservations can be made to David at this address by September 24.

Should be a lot of fun!!! You can also visit the wonderful botanical garden in Yume no Shima as well.
Salsa Dance Teacher Introduction:
Armando Torres Paez has an impressive backgroundIn Cuba, Armando has been working with the professional dance group,“Tiempo Havana” as a first dancer
which performs at theaters and on TV in Cuba. His students won two gold medals at the competition in Havana . He gives classes for popular dance
incuding salsa and Folkloricos. In 2011 he came to Japan and teaches how to enjoy salsa!
Meet at the ticket gate of Higashi Agano Station at 10:00AM or at the front car of the 8:50 train at Ikebukuro.
From Ikebukuro Station, take the Seibu Ikebukuro Line train (express) at 8:50AM to Hanno Station (arriving at 9:37) and change there to the Seibu Chichibu Line (just across the platform), leaving at 9:43 . This arrives at Higashi Agano station at 9:58 .
Walking time – about 4 hours – Higashi Agano Station – Mt Bukken – Mt. Hiwada – – Kinchakuda (fields of Cosmos & Chrysallis) – Alishan Organic Restaurant – Koma Station
This hike finishes off at Kinchakuda (a beautiful field of Cosmos & Chrysallis) and you can eat at the Organic Natural food restaurant “Alishan.”
Bring your lunch and plenty of liquids.
Please don’t forget to bring a rucksack for your food/drinks and wear exercise shoes!

From Shinjuku, take the Special Holiday Express train going towards Okutama (it’s the Chuo Line but may be on another track which is not the main Chuo Line track – BE CAREFUL!) to Okutama (leaving Shinjuku at 8:47 and arriving at Okutama at 10:24). David will be at the Okutama Station ticket gate at 10:27 to bring you to the supermarket and the river. We’ll have lunch on the river, swim, hike and do whatever you want. Very laid back day!!!
Forest Restoration Project (Hatonosu)
Contents: Cutting down bamboo grass (however, there’s a possibility that other outdoor work will be done)
We will meet at the Hatonosu Station Ticket gate at 9:35AM . Take the Oume Line train from Tachikawa at 8:20AM . This arrives at Oume (the last stop) at 8:55 . Cross the platform and take the 8:56 (Okutama bound) train. This arrives at Hatonosu at 9:32AM .
David and other JAMBO members will take part in this project which is put on by the Tama Forest /” Great Nature School ” (my terrible translation) Office. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED as soon as possible and the number of people is limited. OKUTAMA CAMPING & RIVER FUN (Cancelled in case of rain)(Participation Fee 500 yen and camping fee 700 yen)
The Hikawa Campground is about a 10 minute walk from the station. We’ll buy food and drink at the nearby supermarket, go swimming, and enjoy the starry sky. If you have your own tent, no reservation is necessary. If you need to borrow a tent or want to stay in a bungalow there, you must contact the Okutama Hikawa Cammpground at 0428-83-2134 to reserve.
David will be at the Okutama Station ticket gate at 16:23 to bring you to the supermarket and the campground. From Tachikawa, take the 15:05 Oume Line train (going towards Oome), arriving in Oome at 15:39 . Change to the Oume Line, going towards Okutama, leaving at 15:46 and arriving at Okutama (the last stop) at 16:23 . We’ll meet at the ticket gate at 16:25 .

Meeting Place/Time: Yanagawa Station Ticket Gate at 10:15AM
We will relax on the Yanagawa River . You can stroll along the river and swim into a gorge, so bring your swimsuit and towel. After that, we will go back to Takao Station, hike up Mt. Takao and go to the Beer Garden there.
Please bring your lunch and drink.

8:50 Leave Shinjuku Station on the Keio Line (Express going towards Takaosanguchi)
9:40 Arrive at Tako Station and change to the Chuo Line
9:48 Take the Chuo Line (towards Ootsuki)
10:14 Arrive at Yanagawa
If you’d like to go from Shinjuku, get on the front of the 8:50 train at Shinjuku Station.
For those only joining in the afternoon, meet at the JR Line Takao Station North ticket gate at 14:22 (participation fee – 500 yen). We’ll hike up Mt. Takao from there and hit the Mt. Takao Beer Garden at about 4:30PM . (\3300 for men and \3000 for women – all you can eat and drink for 2 hours)
