9:23 Leave at Zushi station (JR Yokosuka Line going towards Kurihama)
9:26 Arrive at Higashi Zushi station

The hiking time is about 5 hours.

Hiking Course: Higashi Zushi Station – Batou Goddess of Mercy – Morito Forest Path – Adventure Course – Mt. Sengen Hiking Course – Hayama Hydrangea Park –  Morito Beach (eat, drink, beach fun) – ShinZushi Station

Meeting Place&Time: Takahatafudo Station (Keio Line) at 11:42 amTrain:  From Shinjuku station, take the Keio Line (Semi Express) train at11:07 am going towards Takao Sanguchi and get off at Takahatafudo Station at 11:40 am.

Course:  Takahatafudo Station (Keio Line) – Takahatafudo-son Temple (7500 hydrangeas of 20 different species) – Katarai Path – Tama Zoo Park (Tama-Dobutsu-Koen) Station – Nanao Hills Walking Course  – Mogusaen Station

Walking Time: About 4 Hours (10 km)

We will stay in the Takahatafudo-son Temple area until 12:45 pm to eat and see the beautiful hydrangeas. So latecomers who arrive by 12:30 pm can meet us at the temple. From there, we will walk to Tama Zoo (Tama-Dobutsu-Koen) Station using mostly a nature course, arriving at about 3 pm. If you want to join from this point, please arrive at the station by 3 pm. And if anyone wants to quit the walk here to go home or go to the zoo, you may do so. From here, we walk on the Nanao Hills Walking Course to Mogusaen Station (on the Keio Line). We plan to finish at 5:30 pm.

Course:  Ichikawa Oono Station –  Manyou Botanical Garden – Kozato Park (Pond) – Omachi Farming Garden – Ichikawa Cemetery – Ichikawa Museum of Natural History – Nature Observatory Park – Omachi Station

We should finish around 4:45 pm.
Walking distance: About 9 km

Due to the Tokyo Mayor’s July 21st announcement requesting people to refrain from non-essential travel during the 4 day weekend (23rd to 26), the events on the 23rd (SeisekiSakuragaoka) and the 26th (Okutama Waterfall hike) are canceled. We apologize for this sudden, late announcement.

Depending on the changing circumstances surrounding Corona, sometimes the event may suddenly be canceled or the place changed, so make sure to confirm by checking the planned event on this site on the evening before.

Requests to the participants

1) Canal/Parks Double Walk & Sunset Picnic on the Sumida River

(1000 Yen (for either half or the whole thing) (Easy Course)(Will be held even in light rain)

Meeting Time/Place: 1:30 pm at Sumiyoshi Station (Toei Shinjuku Line) Exit A3 or 3:30 pm at MinamiSunamachi Station (Tozai Line) Exit 2a 

Course:  Sumiyoshi Station – Sarue Park – Onagigawa Canal – Sendaiborigawa Park – MinamiSunamachi Station (3:30 pm) – Sendaiborigawa Canal – Yokojukken Water Park (canal walk) – Kiba Park – Canal Walk – Botancho Park – Echujima Park (Sunset picnic on the Sumida River 6:00 pm -7:00 pm) – Monzennakacho Station

Walking Time: About 3.5 Hours (10 km)

2) Edogawa River Clean-up

Gather at Barakinakayama Station: 13:00
River Clean Up: 13:30-16:30
Relaxing riverside: 16:30-17:00
Return to station by Car: 17:00-17:15

RIVER CLEAN UP

Gather at Barakinakayama Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 13:00., and then go to the Edogawa River by car and pick up trash along the banks for about about 3 hours.

OPTIONAL MORNING SESSION

As I will be on the river in the morning doing some scouting and precleaning, people welcome to join me at that time, but please make specific arrangements with James (the organizer) at 090-1847-5075.

INFO:

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location on the opposite side of the river from the Clean Spa. Just walk to the river from the station and the head in the direction of Tokyo Bay until you see us along the water line. Also call James if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN:

In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up under cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent areas using rain ware. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled.

Meeting place and time: At the Keio Line’s Tama Center Station’s ticket gate at 13:05.

Train: Take the Keio Line (Express going towards Hashimoto) from Shinjuku Station at 12:32.
This arrives at Keio Tama Center at 13:02.

Course: This course has a lot of parks, green paths, and lines of trees.

Depending on the Covid 19 situation and the direction of the Tokyo government (such as the phase of emergency), planned events may be changed or canceled.  There is a chance that our decision may be made in the last minute, so please make sure to check our announcement on the website accordingly. In the case of cancellation, ‘Canceled’ is written.

Course:  Nishi Agano Station – Ogi no Daira – Shirataki Waterfall – Fudou Waterfall – Big Waterfall – Nishi Agano Station
About 4 hours

Please bring your lunch and drink and make sure to wear proper shoes for a hike.

1) Wearing a mask and keep social distance
When you are near other people or talking with others, please wear the mask.  Remember to keep both mouth and nose covered, not hanging under the chin except when you start to feel sick or have a problem breathing.

2) Physical Condition
If you are feeling feverish or feel unwell, please refrain from joining the event.

3) Contact Information
We ask for you to provide your contact information (email address and phone number) just in case one of the participants gets infected with Corona (in which case, we will contact all participants on that event). Also, if you are tested positive for Corona after the event, please let us know so we can inform others.

In order to continue holding safe events, we ask for all participants’ cooperation concerning these requests.
