Sorry to say that no events are scheduled this weekend (April 4 and 5) and most likely next weekend (April 11 and 12) due to the directive of the Tokyo government calling for self-restraint.

Course: MukogaokaYuenn – Asama Shrine – East Takane Park – Cherry tree tunnel (3KM) – Tama River Cherry Tree Viewing Picnic – Noborito Station

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at MYODEN Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 13:00., and then go to the Edogawa River by car and pick up trash along the banks for about about 3 hours.
NIJIKAI DINNER (optional)
Some participants may go for dinner at a nearby restaurant or weather permitting we could picnic riverside with some bentos bought at a nearby convenience store. The schedule will be flexible up to a vote of the members who do not go home directly.
SWIMMING/SENTO (optional)
The Ichikawa Clean Spa with swimming pool (jacuzzis), and sento with rotemburo is only 5 min. away on foot. For those interested in finishing their day with a swim or hot bath (bring swim ware and cap, Y500 admission to pool + Y600 if entering sento/rotemburo area)
MORNING SESSION (optional)
As I will be on the river in the morning doing some scouting and precleaning, people are welcome to join me at that time, but please make specific arrangements with me by e-mail, arrival time, location, etc.

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location roughly behind the incineration plant (next to the Clean Spa). Just walk to the river from the station and the head in the direction of Tokyo Bay until you see us along the water line. You can also take the Clean Spa courtesy buses departing the station about every 30-45 min. Also call James’ cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN:
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up under cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent areas using rain ware. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled.

We’ll take the 9:40 bus going towards Miyagase-ko, getting off at Susugaya (at 10:12 – 500 Yen).
Course – Susugaya Bus Stop – Mt. Mitsumine – Koutakiji Onsen Iriguchi – Hon-Atsugi (by bus)
Walking Time: about 5.5 Hours
There is an a springs at the end, so if you want to go there, bring towel and a change of clothes.

Those who wish to go with David, please meet at Hino Station (on the Chuo Line) ticket gate at 9:40. We will take the 9:46 bus from there (18 minutes).

OKUTAMA HIKING and Plum Blossoms!
(Easy Course) (1000 yen Participation Fee) (Canceled in case of rain)
The hike is not so difficult and is about a 3 hour walk. We meet at Futamatao Station at 11:59AM. From Shinjuku Station, take the 10:48 Super Express train going towards Takao. This arrives at Kokubunji Station at 11:06. Get off and go to the Oume line, taking the 11:07 train going towards Oume. Take this to Oume, arriving at 11:45, and go across the platform and take the 11:45 train towards Okutama. This train arrives at Futamatao Station 11:57. Be sure to arrive by this time since we will be unable to wait for the next train.
From here, we hike up to Atago Shrine – Mt. Atago ‘584 meters) – Mt. Mimuro (647 meters) – Yoshino Plum Park – and then go down to Hinatawada Station.
