For JAMBO members, the cost is Y3,500 for men and 3,000 for women w/reservation (or plus 500 yen if you go directly without making a reservation). Large international party with bottled beer, wine, cocktails, soft drinks + a 10-turkey traditional American Christmas dinner with stuffing, yams, cranberry sauce, veggies, cheeses, breads, pumpkin pies + a large party cake from Kyle’s Good Finds Bakery. Half of your admission fee will be donated to the African Wildlife Foundation, a group in Africa that works to protect the environment while, at the same time, promoting the development of the local people. http://www.awf.org/ is their homepage.

FUTAGOTAMAGAWA – TODOROKI GORGE HIKE & GARBAGE CLEAN-UP (
Meet at 10:30 at Futagotamagawa station (on the Toukyuu Denentoshi Line) ticket gate.
From Shibuya, take the 10:16AM Toukyuu Denentoshi Line train to Futagotamagawa (arriving at 10:27). We will hike from there to Todoroki (visiting temples and shrines along the way), then go through Todoroki Gorge (a beautiful Gorge in Setagaya Ward, believe it or not), down to the Tama River, and up the river back to FutagoTamagawa. On the riverside, we will pick up garbage (so bring a garbage bag or two) while hanging out there.
Walking time: about 4 hours

Meet at the ticket gate of Surugaoyama Station on the Gotemba Line at 11:05AM.
From Shinjuku, take the 9:11 express Odakyuu Line train (going towards Odawara) to Shin-Matsuda (arriving at 10:35AM). Walk to Matsuda Station (which has the JR Gotemba Line) and get on the 10:44 train. This train arrives at Surugaoyama at 11:03 AM.
(DEFINITELY get on this train because we can’t wait for the next one since they are infrequent.)
We will hike from the station to the Yuujo Waterfall, then to the Choushi Gorge, and return to Ashigara Station (on the Gotemba Line). The hiking time
itself is about 4 hours.
If you’d like to go with Leszek from Shinjuku, you can meet in the front car of the 9:11 Odakyuu Line train.
Please bring your lunch and drink
As we will go to a Hot Springs in Ashigara after the hike, please bring a change of clothes and a towel if you’d like to join!

Fujino Station – Wada Pass – Mt. Jinba (855 Meters) – Fujino Station
Take the Keio Line at 9:20AM from Shinjuku Station to Takao station, arriving at 10:11AM. Change at Takao Station to the Chuo Line. Take the 10:17AM train going towards Ootsuki and get off at Fujino Station, arriving at 10:30AM. Using these trains, the total cost comes to 580 yen.
Meeting Place/Time: Fujino Station Ticket Gate 10:32AM (If you’re going from Shinjuku Station, we will meet on the front of the Keio Line platform at 9:18)
Walking time: about 5 hours
Please wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots), bring a lunch to eat on the mountain, and plenty of liquids.
