We will meet at the gate of ShinMatsuda Station (on the Odakyu Line) at 10:06 AM.

If you’d like to go from Shinjuku, get on the front of the 8:41 Odakyu Line train at Shinjuku Station.
David will get on the first car at the next station (Yoyogi Uehara).
 
COURSE: Shin Matsuda Station – Mt. Matsuda Herb Garden – Saimyo-ji Temple Park – Kaisei Hydrongea Village – Shin Matsuda Station

Int’l Friendship Sushi Party

From 6:30-9:30pm at the Polygon (behind the Oriental Bazaar on Omotesando) For JAMBO members, the cost is 3,500 yen for men and 3,000 yen for women w/reservation (foreigners get a 500 yen discount)(or plus 500 yen if you go directly without making a reservation). All beer, wine, cocktails, soft drinks + sushi buffet, garden salad, veggies, cheeses, breads, and pies for dessert included.

Half of your admission fee will be donated to  Japan Environmental Action Network and Kanagawa Coastal Environmental Foundation.

Yushima Shrine & Ueno Park Walk in ENGLISH

Meeting Place and Time: Exit 3 of Yushima Station (on the Chiyoda Line) at 13:30
 
The program is ¥1000 and includes explanations of the shrine, the park, and foodstuffs sold at the stands) along the way in English. Everyone is requested to use English only for the first hour. After that, people may speak in their preferred language, but David will use only English only until 16:00.

15:00 – 17:00 -See the hydrangea, the pond and the food stands in Ueno Park

Japanese Speaking/Learning & Party with LVC!

WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY for foreigners living in Japan to learn Japanese in a friendly environment, make connections with Japanese who are actively involved with volunteerism, find short term and long term volunteer opportunities, and have a fun time sharing food, drink and conversation.
19:00 – 20:00 – Private or semi-private conversation/lesson in Japanese
20:00 – 21:30 – Participants can go to the nearby store to buy food/drinks they want and come back for an informal get-together in English or Japanese. Learn about volunteer opportunities, make friends with active bi-lingual speakers giving you the chance to expand your network and your perspective.

The Japanese volunteers for this event come from LVC (Language Volunteer Co-Talk), a group which is forming an international volunteer network in Tokyo. This event will be held at JAMBO SCHOOL on the second Friday of each month for as long as there is a demand.

13:30AM – Meet at Funabori Station (Toei Shinjuku Line) ticket gate
14:00 – 17:00 – Do a Garbage Clean-up on the Arakawa River (about a 30 minute walk from the station)(Please bring work gloves if you have them. If you have long, rubber boots to walk in the water, that would be helpful too)

Kamakura Double Course & BYOD Party!

We will meet at the WEST ticket gate of Kitakamakura Station (on the Yokosuka Line) at 10:42AM.
You can get on the Yokosuka Line (going towards Zushi) at Tokyo Station, Shinagawa Station, or Yokohama Station. Get on the train that leaves Tokyo Station at 9:48AM, arriving in Kitakamakura at 10:40AM.

If you’d like to go from Tokyo, David and others will be on the front of the 10:19 JR Yokosuka Line train at Yokohama Station.

BYOD Party in large 11F riverside apartment in Tsurumi where David’s friend Clyde lives. We will have a blast there. Clyde will have food for BBQing for us, which will cost 500 yen per person. Please bring your own drinks, which you can buy on the way to Clyde’s place from the station.
You may join just the party (if you don’t go on the hike) if you’d like.

Jambo & Earthday Bike Ride Group – Fun Ride to Musashi Kokubunji Park!

We will ride through a shopping area and some parks from Mitaka station, and can shop for the afternoon’s picnic at a supermarket in Musashi Sakai and a Co-op. Then, we coninue along the Nogawa River, to a Kokubunji natural spring park, and on to Musashi Kokubunji Park, where we’ll hang out, eat and drink, take a walk, play frisbee, etc. http://bit.ly/1E7GqsD

For people who need to rent a bicycle, please come to Mitaka Station’s south exit Police box at 9:30. Hiro will meet you there and go to Susuzake Bicycle Rental: http://www.mitaka.ne.jp/machidukuri/rentalcycle/index.html to rent bikes. The cost is ¥300 /day and the number of bicycles is limited, so please do not come late.

If you have your bicycle – we meet at 10:00am at Mitaka Station south exit Police Box.

Latecomers can come to the picnic at Musashi Kokubunji Park anytime from 12:30. It’s a 7 minute walk from NishiKokubunji Station (on the JR Chuo Line).

Please bring snacks and foods for the picnic and drinks (you can also buy them at a store near the station) as well as all kinds of park toys: balls, frisbees, unicycles, juggling balls, badminton rackets, inflatable sumo suits, foam swords and squirt guns. For riders, helmets are recommended.
