Meet at the ticket gate of Higashi Agano Station at 9:35AM or at the front car of the 9:19 train at Hanno.
From Ikebukuro Station, take the Seibu Ikebukuro Line train (express) at 8:20AM and get off at Hanno Station at 9:16. Change there to the 9:19 Seibu Chichibu Line (just across the platform) . This arrives at Higashi Agano station at 9:34.
Walking time – about 4 hours – Higashi Agano Station – Mt Monomi – Mt. Hiwada – – Kinchakuda (fields of Cosmos & Chrysallis) – Alishan Organic Restaurant – Koma Station
This hike finishes off at Kinchakuda (a beautiful field of Cosmos & Spider Lilly (Cluster amaryllis) and you can eat at the Organic Natural food restaurant “Alishan.”
Please don’t forget to bring a rucksack for your food/drinks and wear exercise shoes!
You can also soak in the river, so if you want to swim, please bring your swim suit.

Do something good for the environment and join the garbage pick-up. Then, go to one of the best parks in Tokyo, Kasai Rinkai Park, on the Tokyo Bay (eating, drinking, frisbee, seeing the sunset (hopefully).

1) SeisekiSakuragaoka Station Area Course

Meet at SeisekiSakuragaoka Station on the Keio Line at 12:48M. Take the Keio Line super express train (going towards Takaosanguchi)from Shinjuku Station at 12:20PM. This arrives at SeisekiSakuragaoka Station at 12:46.
Course: SeisekiSakuragaoka Station – Keio Store – Iroha Slope Park – Haramine Park – Sakuragaoka Park – Shimizudani Green Area – SeisekiSakuragaoka Station
We will first stop at the Keio Store in front of the station to buy lunch goods. From there, we will walk to Haraho Park where we will have lunch. This hiking course includes a walk along a river, a couple of green areas, several parks and a couple of shrines. It’s an easy, fun walk which should last about 4 hours.

Course: Hanno Station – Mt. Tenran – Mt. Tonosu – Iruma River (Swimming & river fun) – Hanno Station
Walking time: About 3.5 hours
From Ikebukuro, take the Seibu Ikebukuro (Semi-Express) Line’s 9:50AM train and get off at Hanno Station, arriving there at 10:42AM. Make sure to get on this train as we cannot wait for the next one.
Please wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots), bring a lunch to eat on the mountain, and plenty of liquids.
Since we’ll be swimming in the river, also bring your swimsuit and towel.

1) September 1-2 (Sat~Sun) World Heritage Mt Fuji climb is CANCELED due to bad weather.
2) September 1 – Arakawa River Clean Up & Picnic
We will met at Minami-Sunamachi Station (on the Tozai Line) outside of Exit 3 at 9:30a.m., and then go to the Arakawa River by car and pick up trash along the banks for about 2.5 hours. Afterwards we will have a picnic along the river at a nearby park.
All food and drinks will be provided for the picnic. Admission Y1,000 to cover the cost of food and drinks (+Y500 or Y1,500 for people drinking beer or wine). The picnic should finish between 3:00 and 3:30.
Recommended: Hat, long-sleeve shirt (for sun protection), gloves, walking/hiking shoes, generally older clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. The clean up route will be mostly paved so rubber boots will not be necessary
If you come late, walk to the river alongside the Tozai Line and go to the water where the Tozai Line Bridge crosses the river and look for us along the water line. Also call my cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us. The adjacent park has restrooms nearby the clean up area.

Course: Uenohara Station – Muku no ki (a Natural Treasure) – Mt.Tsurushima Gozen – Sagami River (Swim, watch the sunset while eating/drinking) – Uenohara
Walking time: about 3 hours
After the hike, we’ll hang out on the riverside. The river is wide and calm so we can have a good time swimming (bring your swimsuit and towel).

Meet at the Odayuu Line’s Yomiuri Land Mae Station at 12:37PM. Take the
Odakyu express train from Shinjuku Station at 12:11 (going towards KataseEnoshima) to Noborito, arriving at 12:27. Change to the 12:29 Odakyu local line and get off at YomiuriLandMae at 12:35.
This hiking course passes by several temples and shrines, a nice wooded area, a Japanese garden, a “Fruits Park” and a lot of greenery. It’s a fairly easy 3.5 hour hike ending up at Keio-tamagawa Station on the Keio Sagamihara Line.
Bring your own beverages and lunch box and backpack.
Please wear comfortable hiking shoes/boots.

Meet at the ticket gate of MusashiItsukaichi Station (the last stop of the Itsukaichi Line) at 10:50AM.
From Shinjuku, take the Chuo Line (Express going towards Takao) at 9:37, arriving at Tachikawa Station at 10:11AM. Change to the Oume Line, leaving Tachikawa at 10:17. This train arrives at Haijima at 10:28. Get off there and change to the 10:32 (JR Itsukaichi Line) train and take this to MusashiItsukaichi (the last stop), arriving at 10:49AM.
David will get on the front of the Oume Line train at Haijima at 10:32AM.
Course: MusashiItsukaichi Station – Mt. Konpira – HoshiTake Line – Akikawa River (we will swim and play along the river as we walk back to the station (along road and river) – MusashiItsukaichi Station
