Meet at the Hanzomon Line’s Hanzomon Station (exit 3b) at 5:15 for the walk or in front of the Budokan at 6:15PM for the Ohanami Party.

Miura Peninsula Hiking Course & Dusk Party in Yokosuka!

Meeting Place/Time: KeikyuuNagasawa Station on the Keihin Kyuko (Keikyuu) Line at 11:10AM

From Shinagawa station, take the 10:08AM Keihin Kyuko Line train bound for Keikyuu Kurihama.  Get off at Keikyuu Kurihama station at 11:01 and change to the local train leaving at 11:02 going towards Misakiguchi. This arrives at KeikyuuNagasawa Station at 11:07.

Course: KeikyuuNagasawa Station – Kurihama Pagoda & Goddess of Mercy – Miura Mt. Fuji – Mt. Hod – Mt. Takeyama – Tsukuihama Beach walk – KeikyuuNagasawa Station

Mt. Takeyama  is the Miura Peninusula’s high point at 200 meters.  It has a panoramic view.  The hiking time is about 4 hours.

After the hike, those who want to go can join a Yokosuka coast dusk picnic and/or dinner and drinks.

Cherry Blossom Walk in Seijo Gakuen

Cherry blossoms on both sides of the river are reflected on the surface of the water, creating a gorgeous view.

☆Course:  Seijo-Gakuenmae Station – Seijo Line of Cherry Trees – Soshigaya Kannondo – Sengawa Line of Cherry Trees – Pond in Seijo Gakuen – Toho Studio – Ancient Tombs in Kunuta Junior High School – Roof Garden of Seijo Corty’s rooftop garden – Seijo-Gakuenmae Station 

Walking&Sightseeing Time: About 2 hours (5km).

Mt. KAGENOBU & TAKAO AREA PLUM BLOSSOM VIEWING HIKE

(Participation fee 1000 yen) (Moderately difficult course) (Cancelled in case of rain)

Bring your own beverages and food for lunch, also good hiking shoes, backpack.

Meeting Place/Time:  The ticket gate for Sagamiko Station on the Chuo Line at 10:25 AM.

Train:  Shinjuku Station (Keio Line Limited Express towards Hachioji) departing at 9:19 and arriving at Kitano at 9:58  Transfer at Kitano to the Keio-Takao Line departing at 9:58 and arriving at Takao Station at 10:08. Then change to the Chuo Line (going towards Otsuki), leaving at 10:13 and arriving at Sagamiko Station at 10:22.

Course:  Sagamiko Station – – Mt. Kagenobu – Kogesawa – Ura-takao Plum Orchard – Takao Station (JR/Keio Lines)

Walking time:  5.5 hours

Edogawa Garbage pick-up

We will meet at MYODEN Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 12:00noon., and then go to Edogawa River by car by and pick up trash along the banks for about 3 hours. Afterwards some members may go to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

Recommended: Dress warm for the weather and wear generally older clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Rubber boots or hiking shoes are recommended.

If you come late, walk to the river (about 12-15 min.) and look for us at the water line in the direction of Tokyo Bay. Also call Jame’s cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us. The park next to the Tozai line just before the river bank has a restroom.

Let’s have fun enjoying our local nature while making it better at the same time.

This event will not be cancelled in the event of rain or only if very heavy rain as we can clean up under the bay-front bridges as well as move back and forth to the station by car). Please check the site or message me for details if any doubt.

Environmental Restoration Project with Friends of the Earth

Meet at the Odakyu Line’s Karakida Station’s ticket gate at 12:40PM.  

Take the OdakyuuExpress (going towards Karakida) from Shinjuku Station at 11:53AM.  This arrives at Karakida at 12:35PM. 

Course: Karakida Station – Yokoyama Green Road – IpponMatsu Park – Yutakagaoka Park – Tama Central Park – Tama Center Station   

It’s an easy 3 hour walk (about 9 KM) with a lot of greenery.

For JAMBO members, the cost is 1,500 yen  for men and 1000 yen for women w/reservation (or plus 500 yen if you go directly without making a reservation).  Foreigners get at 500 yen discount.  This includes the buffet! Drinks can be bought at Happy Hour prices.

1) Mt. Otakatori hiking/Ogose Plum Blossom Festival

Cancelled in case of rain)(Not Difficult Course)

Bring your own beverages and food for lunch, or you can get food/drink at the festival.

We will meet at the ticket gate of Ogose at 10:00AM. From Ikebukuro, take the Tobu Tojo Line’s Express Train at 9:00 and change at Sakado (arriving here at 9:37) to the Tobu Ogose Line.  HURRY to take the 9:39AM Tobu Ogose Line train to the end (Ogose Station).  It arrives at Ogose at 9:57AM. From here, we hike to Ogose Plum Tree Park, which should be in bloom and has 1,000 trees, with some being 600 years old. We’ll enjoy the festival and have lunch there. Then we hike up and down a few small mountains and then down to a temple before returning to Ogose Station. 

The walking time itself is about 4-5 hours.

Please don’t forget to have your rucksack and exercise shoes or hiking boots to avoid your injury.

We will meet at NISHI KASAI Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate for exits 1 and 2 at 12:00noon., and then go to the Arakawa River by car and pick up trash along the banks for about 3 to 3.5 hours. Afterwards we go to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

Recommended: Dress warm and rubber boots are recommended. Also wear generally older clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

If you come late, walk to the river (about 20 min to our location) and look for us at the water line near the Tozai Line bridge. Also call my cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

City Green Roads Walk with Plum Festival

Meeting Place/Time: Umegaoka Station (Odakyuu Line) ticket gate at 12:10PM

Course: Umegaoka Station – Hanegi Park Plum Festival (and lunch) –  Kitazawagawa Green Road – Toriyamagawa Green Road – Jakuzure River Greenway – Nakameguro Station

The course is about 9 km and should finish around 4:30; however, you can leave anytime you’d like since stations are always nearby.
