Enoshima Beach Fun

Meet at the ticket gate of Kugenuma Kalgan Station at 11:05AM. Take the 9:56AM Odakyuu Line Express (express going towards Fujisawa) to Fujisawa (arriving at 10:55AM) and change there to the Odakyuu Line going towards KataseEnoshima
(leaving at 11:00AM). This arrives at KugenumaKaigan at 11:04AM.

Have a nice walk through the Shounan Seaside Park, cross over the bridge to Enoshima Island, and go to the opposite side, where we will swim, relax, and play around. Then, we take a walk around the island before going to the beach for more of the same. Finish with a sunset party on the beach!!!

Please bring food and drink for lunch on the coast, and swimwear/beach toys if you wish to have fun in the sun.

Mt. Fuji Climb

8/6 to 8/7 (Sat~Sun) World Heritage Mt Fuji climb

(Very Difficult)
(Participation Fee 1000 yen) (Cancelled in case of rain)

Bring your own food, rice balls, energy snack bars, chocolate, bananas and plenty of water.

We will meet at Kawaguchiko station at 15:25. Then take the (15:50) bus to the 5th station.
Take the following trains: From Shinjuku station take the Chuo line (Special express to Takao) at 12:36 & change at Takao. Then take the 13:20 Chuo line (Kofu line) to Otsuki. Change to the Fujikyu line to Kawaguchiko (14:18) arriving at 15:21.

We will spend a couple of hours at the 5th stn to climatise & plan to start the climb around 19:00. Climbing slowly & taking many breaks so we can time our ascend to reach the top just before sunrise.
: Fuji Yoshida trail – Kusushi shrine (top) – Subashiri 5th station.

The total walking time for the hike will be about 7~8 hours going up & about 4~5 hours going down.

Ranzan Gorge Hike & River Fun

We will have a 4 hour hike up a small mountain and into a gorge.
 
Course: MusashiRanzan Station – Mt. Ohira – Ranzan Gorge – Toki River Swim & fun – MusashiRanzan Station
 
From Ikebukuro, take the  Tobu Tojo (Express going towards Ogawamachi) Line’s 10:00AM train and get off at MusashiRanzan Station, arriving at 11:01. Make sure to get on this train as we cannot wait for the next one.
 
People going from Ikebukuro Station can meet at the front end of the train on the Tobu Tojo Line platform at 10:00, or meet at MusashiRanzan Station’s ticket gate at 11:03. 
 
Please wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots), bring a lunch and plenty of liquids、and a swimsuit if you want to swim.

Ebisu International Party

Take the following train: Holiday Kaisoku Akigawa 5 from Shinjuku station at 8:19AM & get off at Mitake station at 9:40AM.

Then from Mitake station take the bus to the cable car.

Hiking course: Mt Mitake – Rock Garden – waterfalls – Tamagawa – Mitake station.

No reservations necessary just show up and have fun. Finish time is estimated.

Environmental Project Volunteering at Tama Zoo

Environmental Project Volunteering at Tama Zoo –
Working at Dragonfly Pond with the Insect Park
(Cancelled in case of 70% or more chance of rain) 9:30AM – 2:30PM

Cost: 500 yen for insurance

We meet at 9:30AM at the front main entrance of Tama Zoo’s Station (Tama Dobutsukoen).
Take the 8:47AM Keio Line Semi-express from Shinjuku to Takahatafudo (arriving at 9:21AM) and change to the Keio Dobutsu Koen Line train, leaving Takahatafudo at 9:25 and arriving at Tama Dobutsu Koen Station  at 9:28AM.

If you would like to participate, please inform Tomomi Uchino (090-1737-1470 tomomiflw@gmail.com) by July 7 (Thursday) so that we can get volunteer insurance. If you join this event, please bring the following: Long sleeved shirt and long pants (not shorts), work gloves, towel, and appropriate shoes (trekking shoes or hiking boots) are required.

Please bring whatever you want to eat for lunch, and drinks during the work project.

Zushi Hiking Course

We will meet at the ticket gate of Higashi Zushi Station at 10:15AM. Please take the following train.
9:18 Shinagawa (JR Tokaido Line going towards Atami) – Oofuna (9:51 arrival), change to the JRYokokuka Line (towards Kurihama) leaving at 9:55 – Higashi Zushi (10:13AM)
 
The hike itself is not difficult, but the hiking time is about 6 hours.
 
Hiking Course: Higashi Zushi Station – Batou Goddess of Mercy – Morito Forest Path – Adventure Course – Mt. Sengen Hiking Course – Morito Beach – ShinZushi Station
 
Bring your lunch and plenty of liquids. 
Please don’t forget to bring a rucksack for your food/drinks and wear exercise shoes!

Takahatafudou Hydrongea Event (in English) & Ebisu International Party

Course: Takahatafudadou Station - Oogijima Park – Manganji Chuo Park – TakahataFudo Pagoda Area Hydrongea Festival  – Takahatafudou Station
 
Walking Time: About 2-3 Hours (7KM)  
 
From Shinjuku, take the Keio Line (Special Express) train at 12:20PM  and get off at Takahatafudou Station, arriving at 12:50. We’ll meet at the ticket gate there at 12:52

The program is ¥1000. Everyone is requested to use English only for the first hour. After that, people may speak in their preferred language, but David will use only English during the walk for the first 2 hours. David will teach some interesting animal facts in the first park.

13:30 – 14:00 –  Interesting Animal Facts Lesson
14:00 – 15:00 – Play around while walking to Takahatafudou
15:00 -16:30 – Walk around the hill of hydrongea & enjoy the festival
16:30 – Finished
