Meet at the ticket gate of Kori Station (on the Oume Line) at 10:10 AM.

Take the Oume Line train (going towards Oume) at 9:05 from Tachikawa, arriving at Oume Station at 9:38. Change to the 9:41 Oume line train (going towards Okutama).  This arrives at Kori Station at 10:08.

David will get on the front of the Oume Line train at Oume Station at 9:41AM.

Course: Kori Station – Mt. Ootsuka – Mt. Mitake and Mitake Shrine –  Mitake Station

Walking Time: about 4 hours

Chichibu Hiking – Waterfall and Scenic Experience

(Intermediate Course)(Participation Fee 1000 yen) (Cancelled in case of rain)

Meeting Time & Place: 10:15AM at Nishi Agano Station’s ticket gate

Take the Seibu Ikebukuro Line Express train from Ikebukuro Station at 8:50AM.  This arrives at Hanno Station (the final destination) at 9:37AM.  Change here to the Seibu Chichibu Line (which leaves at 9:43 just across the platform) and get off at Nishi  Agano Station (arriving at 10:13AM).  (Definitely arrive at this time!) Meet on the front of the 9:43 Seibu Chichi Line train at Hanno if you want to go from there there.

Hiking Course:  Nishi Agano Station – Ogi no Daira – Shirataki Waterfall – Fudou Waterfall – Big Waterfall – Nishi Agano Station

The hiking time is about 5 hours.

Please bring your lunch and drink.

Bring your own beverages and lunch box and backpack.

Meet at the Odakyuu Line’s Tama Center Station’s ticket gate at 10:50AM.

Take the Tama Express (Kyuukou going towards Karakida) from YoyogiUehara Station at 10:15AM.

This arrives at Tama Center at 10:47AM. (If you’re going from Shinjuku, take the 10:03 local

Odakyuu Line going towards HonAtsugi, arriving at Yoyogi Uehara at 10:10,  and change at Yoyogi Uehara to the 10:15 Express above).

Course: This course has a lot of parks, green paths, and lines of trees.

Finally, we have an end-of- the year party. Reservations are necessary for the party.

We will have an end-of-the-year party at a Japanese Pub (from 5:00 pm) in Tama.

Reservations are needed by December13 (Wednesday) 5:00 pm.

(you can only reserve for yourself in an email, so you cannot reserve for someone else).  First 20 people will be accepted.

The party will be held at ‘Izakaya ikunara orenchi koi Tama center branch’.

★About the cancellation fee

If you cancel by 5:00 PM on December 13 (Wednesday), there will be no cancellation feel.

Cancelations made after that will incur a 2,000 yen cancelation fee (since we will have already reserved the seats).

Learn how to make a greeting card with Scratch. Scratch is a free programming language and online community where you can create your own interactive stories, games, and animations.

A teacher will demonstrate tea ceremony. Experience the culture of tea. It is not necessary to take a seiza position.

Charity Christmas Party and Fun

Place: Miran Hall  (Chitosekarasuyama Station on the Keio Line)

Time: 7:00 – 10:00PM

9:00 – 10:00 – Party, Karaoke and Dancing

David will meet people at the North Exit #1 at 7:00PM.  Or you can go to the Miran Hall directly.

Fee: Men 2500 yen    Women 1500 yen  (Party)(Includes sandwiches, snacks, wine, and soft drinks)

Reservations are requested by 1:00PM on Friday, December 15 so we can plan accordingly. You can still join the party without a reservation, but it helps us to know about how many are coming.

To go to Miran Hall, go out the North Exit (at the East ticket gate) of Chitosekarasuyama Station, Turn right and walk along the railroad tracks (DO NOT CROSS the tracks). This is a Kris Kringle Party.  People who want to participate in the gift exchange, please bring a recycled present or new present worth about ¥1000 and participants exchange the gifts with each other. Please bring gifts appropriate for either a man or a woman.

Proceeds from the entrance fee will be donated to Save the Children and Ashinaga, and used to pay for the hall, food, and drink.

River Garbage Pick-up & Picnic in the Park!

10:15 – 12:30 – Do a Garbage Clean-up on the Arakawa River (about a 30 minute walk from the station)(Please bring work gloves if you have them)

13:00 Meet at the Higashi Oojima Station (Toei Shinjuku Line) east ticket gate

13:30 – 15:00 – Picnic in OojimaKomatsukawa Park (near the station)(Food and drinks will be prepared – Entrance fee with reservation (by December 2) 1,500 yen (or 1,000 yen if you don’t drink alcohol)(without reservation +500 yen)

15:00 – 16:00 – Fun in the park

Do something good for the environment and join the garbage pick-up.

You may join both the garbage pick-up (no reservation necessary) and picnic, or only one of them if you prefer.

Fall Colors Walk (in English)

The program is ¥1000 and everyone is requested to use English only for the first hour.  After that, people may speak in their preferred language, but David will use only English during the walk for the first 2 hours.

13:00 – 14:00 – Walk around Arisukawa Park (Japanese Maple trees)

14:00 – 15:00 – Walk to and through the Aoyama Cemetery (many kinds of trees and graves)

15:00 – 16:00 – Walk to and through the famous Ginkgo Tree lined street at Gaien

16:00 Finish at AoyamaIchome (Hanzomon Line)

Walking distance is about 4 KM. This is a short, easy hike.

Tama “Abundance of Parks” Fall Colors Walk

Meeting Place & Time: Karakida Station (Odakyu Line) at 10:32AM

Train:  Shinjuku  (Odakyuu Line local going towards HonAtsugi) 9:43 departure  →   9:50 Yoyogi Uehara arrival (CHANGE trains)  →   Yoyogi Uehara (Odakyuu Line fast train direct going to Karakida)  9:55 departure → Karakida 10:29 arrival

Course:  Karakida Station (Odakyuu Line) –  Bessho Park – Sasaragi Green Area – Nagaike Pond – Shimizu Green Area  – TamaSakai Station (Keio Line)

Walking Time: About 4 Hours (12KM) plus a lot of time for fun (including looking at the beautiful maples along the way), so the hike should take about 5 hours.
