1) SATTE HIKING, SPIDER LILLIES & FESTIVAL!

We meet at MinamiKuriBashi Station at 12:45PM.

Take the 11:55AM Toubu Isezaki Line  Express train from KitaSenju Station. This arrives at ToubuDoubutsuKouen Station at 12:30.  From there, take the 12:31 ToubuNikko Line train (going towards MinamiKuriBashi) and get off at MinamiKurBashi at 12:42. Be sure to arrive by this time since we will be unable to wait for the next train.
 
Hiking Course – MinamiKuriBashi Station – Takasuka Pond – Gongendo Park (Higanbana Festival (3,000,000 Spider Lillies) We will hang out here for the festival, having fun and eating and drinking – Satte City Historical Buildings walk – Satte Station

Today’s hiking is about 4 hours (10 KM) with a lot of fun mixed in. 
 
Please wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots), bring a lunch to eat on the mountain, and plenty of liquids.

2) Edogawa River Clean Up + Nijikai Dinner

Gather at Myoden Station: 13:00
River Clean Up: 13:30-16:30
Relaxing riverside: 16:30-17:00
Return to station by Car: 17:00-17:15
Nijikai Dinner at nearby restaurant: 17:30-18:30

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at MYODEN Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 13:00, and then go to te Edogawa River by car and pick up trash along the banks for about about 3 hours.

NIJIKAI DINNER
Some participants may go for dinner at a nearby restaurant or weather permitting we could picnic riverside with some bentos bought at a nearby convenience store. The schedule will be flexible up to a vote of the members who do not go home directly.

OPTIONAL SWIMMING
The Ichikawa Clean Spa with swimming pool (jacuzzis), and sento with rotemburo is only 5 min. away on foot. For those interested in finishing their day with a swim or hot bath (bring swim ware and cap, Y500 admission to pool + Y600 if entering sento/rotemburo area)

OPTIONAL MORNING SESSION
As I will be on the river in the morning doing some scouting and precleaning, people welcome to join me at that time, but please make specific arrangements with me by e-mail, arrival time, location, etc.

INFO:
If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location on the opposite side of the river from the Clean Spa. Just walk to the river from the station and the head in the direction of Tokyo Bay until you see us along the water line. Also call my cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN:
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up under cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent areas using rain ware. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled.

We will have a blast there.
Clyde will have food for BBQing for us, which will cost 500 yen per person. Please bring your own drinks and other food (which we will buy on the way to Clyde’s place from the station).

You may join just the party (if you don’t go on the hike) if you’d like. In this case, meet at the Keikyuu Tsurumi ticket gate at 16:15.

Meeting Place/Time: Hatonosu Station ticket gate at 12:20

From Tachikawa, take 11:15 JR Oume Line train going towards Oume (arriving at 11:45. Then take the Oume line train going towards Okutama, leaving at 11:46 (across the platform) and arriving in Hatonosu at 12:17.

From Hatonosu Station, we’ll go to the river and hang out there for a while, and then go for a hike, swimming here and there along the way. At the end of the course, in the Okutama Station area, there is a hot spring and craft beer bar for those who are interested.

COURSE: Hatonosu Station – Hatonosu Gorge (Swim) – Shiromaru Dam – Tama River (Swim) – Okutama Station

Please bring your lunch and drinks and swimming suit/towel if you are swimming.

2) International Friendship Party

For JAMBO members, the cost is 1,500 yen for men and 1000 yen for women w/reservation (or plus 500 yen if you go directly without making a reservation). Foreigners get at 500 yen discount. This includes the buffet! Drinks can be bought at Happy Hour prices.

Arakawa River Clean Up

(We may go to a nearby restaurant for dinner depending on the weather and what participants want to do, so the dinner plan will be flexible.)

CLEAN UP SESSION:
Gather at MINAMI SUNAMACHI Station (Tozai Line) outside the ticket gate for exits 2 and 3 at 1:00pm, and then go to the Arakawa River by car and pick up trash along the banks for about 3 to 3.5 hours with a break in the middle.

DINNER PICNIC:
If coming just for the picnic go directly to the river and look for us at the water’s edge near the Tozai Line Bridge Picnic will basically include bentos with desert (fruit/sweets), soft drinks and beer/wine. You can bring your own or I’ll buy some on the midday return to the station. Also, depending on the weather and the decision of participants, we may go to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

ALTERNATIVE MORNING SESSION:
I should arrive on the river in the morning for scouting and precleaning.If anyone would like to come in the morning, contact me to arrange a meet up time/place.

INFO:
Rubber boots will not be necessary for this course. Just wear comfortable clothing and footwear that you can move around in and don’t mind getting a little dirty. If you come late, it will be about a 15-min walk to our location at the water front near the Tozai Line bridge. Also call James’ cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us. In the event of rain this event will not be cancelled (except for typhoons or lightning). Please bring a rain pancho or rain gear.

Mt. Zumado Hiking & SWIMMING! (Okutama)

Please bring your own food and plenty to drink. We’ll finish at the Tama River and enjoy some river fun, so bring your swimsuit as well.

Meet at the ticket gate of Kawai Station (on the Oume Line) at 12:10.

Take the JR Special Express Chuo Line train (going towards Takao) at 10:48 from Shinjuku, arriving at Kokubunji Station at 11:06. Change at Kokubunji to the JR Chuo Line express going towards Oume, leaving at 11:07. Take this to the last stop (Oume), arriving at 11:45. Cross the platform and take the 11:46 Oume line train (going towards Okutama). This arrives at Kawai Station at 12:09.

Meet at the Keio Line’s Tama Center Station’s ticket gate at 12:42.
Take the Keio Line (Express going towards Takao) from Shinjuku Station at 12:07. This arrives at Chofu at 12:23. Change at Chofu to the 12:24 Keio line express going towards Hashimoto. This arrives at Tama Center at 12:40.

Walking time: About 3 hours (10KM)

You can stop at a convenience store on the way and we will have a lunch stop in a park around 1:30.

2) Edogawa River Clean Up + Picnic

This will be a 2-part event with a riverside picnic at 1:00pm. Participants can attend the morning clean up and or just the picnic. There will be 2 pick up times at Barakinakayama Station.

River Clean Up 9:00a.m.-12:30p.m.
Riverside Picnic: 1:00p.m.-2:30p.m.
(Note: in the event of rain me may go to a nearby restaurant rather than have a picnic.)

MORNING SESSION:
Gather at BARAKINAKAYAMA Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 9:00a.m., and then go to te Edogawa River by car and pick up trash along the banks for about 2.5 to 3 hours.

PICNIC:
Gather at BARAKINAKAYAMA Station at 12:30p.m. and go to the river by car for a 1:00p.m. picnic start. Picnic will basically include bentos with soft drinks and beer/wine. (Basically participants will tell me what to buy at the supermarket during the midday pick up). Afterwards we can throw frisbees and balls around, and there is a swimming pool and spa with rotemburo only 2-3min. away on foot for those interested in finishing their day with a swim (bring swim ware and cap, Y500 admission to pool + Y600 if entering sento/rotemburo area)

Optional afternoon session: As I will be on the river all day, latercomers could join me in the afternoon, but please make specific arrangements with me by e-mail, arrival time, location, etc.
