8:00 – 8:30PM – Ronnie (the wonderful person who is working with street children in Uganda and to whom JAMBO sent many clothes) will contact us by skype and be giving some of the clothes which he received to the children there, so we can talk with him and the children. This is one example of putting “Spirituality into Action.”
This is the first of a monthly course (the first get-together being at the office near MinamiSunamachi station), using materials from the PEERS Transformation Course. This course, as well as our monthly meetings, discuss a current topic and various ways action can be taken to deal with the issue. Therapy Road Hiking and Okutama Lake

Meet at the JR Ohme Line’s Okutama Station’s Ticket Gate at 10:25AM. From Shinjuku, take the JR Holiday Special Rapid Okutama#5 (going to Okutama) at 8:47AM. This arrives at Okutama Station at 10:24. Be sure to arrive on this train as we will be unable to wait for the next one.
Meet on the front of the 8:47 train at Shinjuku if you want to go from there there. David will get on the first car of the same train at Nakano Station.
Please wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots), bring a lunch to eat on the mountain, and plenty of liquids.
Course (from Okutama Station): Old (Therapy) Road – Shidakura Suspension Bridge – Water & Greenery Exhibit Building – Okutama Station (by bus – 15 minutes)
Walking Time: About 5 hours

Meeting Place & Time: Karakida Station (Odakyu Line) at 10:33AM
Course: Karakida Station (Odakyuu Line) – Bessho Park – Sasaragi Green Area – Nagaike Pond – Shimizu Green Area – HorinoUchi Station (Keio Line)
Walking Time: About 4 Hours (12KM) plus a lot of time for fun, so the hike should take about 5 hours.

2 Rapeseed Blossom Hot Spots & Mt. Oogusu Hiking!
(Bring your own food and drink for the hike)
We will meet at the ticket gate of Kinugasa Station at 10:30AM. From Shinbashi, take the JR Tokaido Line train (going towards Odawara) at 9:07. This arrives at Totsuka at 9:42. Change at Totsuka and get on the 9:45 JR Yokosuka Line train (going towards Zushi), arriving at Zushi at 10:02. At Zushi, change to the JR Yokosuka Line train (going towards Kurihama) leaving at 10:10 and arriving at Kinugasa Station at 10:25.
If you want to ride with David and others, please get on the front car of the 9:45 Yokosuka Line train at Totsuka.
Hiking Course: Kinugasa Station – Kinugasa Park – Mt. Oogusu – Koyasu no Sato Park – Zushi Station (by bus or on foot)
The hike itself is about 5 hours.
Both Mt. Oogusu and Koyasu no Sato are famous for their rapeseed blossoms during this time of year.

Be sure to arrive on this train as we will be unable to wait for the next one.
The hike will be Okutama Station – Anjizawa – Mt. Honida – Mt. Kobutaka – Mt. One Shrine – Hatonosu Station
The hiking time is about 5 hours.

Shinjuku Station (Keio Line Semi-Limited Express) 9:00AM – Takaosanguchi Station 9:56AM (¥370)
Hiking Course: Takaosanguchi Station – Mt. Takao – Mt. Shiroyama – Mt. Kagenobu – UraTakao Plum Orchard – Takao Station
ROUTE: Starting from Takaosanguchi Station, we will take the ridge course to near the top of Mt. Takao and walk from there to Mt. Shiroyama, where we will have lunch. If the weather is clear, we should be able to catch glimpses of Mt. Fuji along the way. After lunch we will pass through Kobotoketoge on the way to Mt. Kagenobu, where we can enjoy views of the surrounding mountains. The return route follows a meandering mountain stream back to a logging road which takes us to the Uratakao Plum Orchard, where we’ll hopefully be able to see the plum blossoms in full bloom. Unfortunately it is not permitted enter the orchard itself for a hanami, but we will follow the road back to Takao Station (for both the Keio and Chuo Lines).

Abalimi Bezekhaya (Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA) – This is an organization working with development and environmental restoration in Cape Flats. Cape Flats is an
impoverished area outside Cape Town which was partitioned as a “Black” residential area under the apartheid regime. Due to poor management, overcrowding,
and the unjust policies of the apartheid era, Cape Flats became environmentally devastated. Abalimi Bezekhaya is working to “re-green” the area by promoting

Preparing for a diversified forest at the Tama Zoo
Meet at 9:25AM at the front main entrance of Tama Zoo’s station (TamaDobutsukoen).
Take the 8:40AM Keio Line express from Shinjuku to Takahatafudo (arriving at 9:15AM) and change to the Keio Dobutsu Koen Line train,
leaving Takahatafudo at 9:18 and arriving at Tama Dobutsu Koen Station at 9:22AM.
If you would like to participate, please inform David by March 2 so that we can get volunteer insurance. If you join this event, please bring the following: Long sleeved shirt and long pants (not shorts), work gloves, towel, and appropriate shoes (trekking shoes or hiking boots) are required.
Please bring whatever you want to eat for lunch, and drinks during the work project.
