Niemonjima is located in Kamogawa in Southern Boso Peninsula, possessed by a private owner. The island is designated as a place of scenic beauty by Chiba Prefecture and selected as one of Shin Nihon Hyakkei (newly-selected 100 beautiful sceneries in Japan). You can go to the island on a rare old-style boat with two paddles within about five minutes.

Meeting Time/Place: 11:15 JR Uchibo Line Futomi Station ticket gate

☆The program is ¥1000. Admission ¥1350

Train: If you are coming from Tokyo, take the 8:04 JR Sobu Line (Rapid) train from Tokyo Station [going towards Kimitsu]. This arrives at Kisarazu Station at 9:21. Take the 9:31 Uchibo Line train [going towards Kazusa-Ichinomiya]. This train arrives at Futomi Station at 11:14. The trains are running infrequently and we will be unable to wait for the next train. Please be sure to arrive by the appointed meeting time.

Course: Futomi Station – Dock – Niemonjima – Dock – Futomi Station

☆Sightseeing time is about 3 hours.

Train: If you are going back to Tokyo, take the 14:17 JR Uchibo Line train from Futomi Station [going towards Kazusa-Ichinomiya]. This arrives at Kazusa Ichinomiya Station at 15:35. Take the 15:39 JR Satobo Line [going towards Tokyo]. This arrives at Tokyo Station at 17:09.

14:30, and then go to the Edogawa River by car and pick up trash
along
the banks for about 3 to 3.5 hours

Clean Center (incineration plant) and the Clean Spa. First walk
to the
Myoden Bridge, cross it, and enter the rierside path on the
embankement.
Then head in the direction of Tokyo Bay until you see us
along the water

RAIN
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled
as
we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up

Kamakura – Zushi Walking and Beach Fun

Meeting place and time: At the east ticket gate of Kamakura Station (on the Yokosuka Line) at 13:10

Train: From Yokohama Station, take the 12:38 Yokosuka Line train (going towards Kurihama) . This arrives at Kamakura at 13:04

Course  – Kamakura Station – Gionyama Hiking Course – Houkukuji Temple – Old Pilgrimage Hiking Road – Mt.Kinubari – Panorama Viewpoint – Iwadono Temple – Zushi Beach (Sunset) – Zushi Station. (About 10 km)

We won’t be taking a lunch break once the event starts.

We plan to get to the beach at around 16:00 and enjoy swimming, eating and drinking and beach fun.

Those who wish to

 (Cutting bamboo grass, cleaning up the forest
floor)

Please wear long pants and long-sleeved shirt and exercise shoes. Please
bring your own drinks, food (for lunch) and work gloves.

Course: Ootsuki Station – Mt. Iwadono – Chigootoshi Cliffs – Ootsuki Station

Walking time: about 4 hours.

Walking Distance: About 10 km

Please wear appropriate shoes for a hike and bring lunch to eat on the 
mountain, and plenty of liquids.

WHAT TO BRING
Wear old clothing that you do not mind getting dirty, and please wear long pants. Bare legs are not recommended because they can easily get cut from objects like cut river reeds. Also, a hat is recommended, especially during the summer months, and please bring lots of liquids to drink. Bringing gloves is also recommended but we usually have some extra pairs available to loan out.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
If you come late, it will be about a 25 min. walk to our location on the island under the elevated C2 highway walking under the Tozai Line bridge all the way to the end of the pods. Call the organizer’s (James) cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

Today, we will do a short free hydrangea walk Sumida Park in Asakusa. Hydrangea Road (in the park) is about 2 km (4 km round trip) and has about 10,000 stalks. After that, we will go to Sensoji Temple and Kamiya Bar for a drink. Please join if interested. Call 080-6546-7688 if you can’t find us.

It’s one of the foremost scenic destinations. You can photograph a pagoda tower together with Mt. Fuji.

Myorakuji Temple is known as the hydrangea temple. It’s located in Kawasaki. It boasts of 1,000 hydrangeas of 28 kinds.
