Meeting Place/Time: Keikyu-Nagasawa Station on the Keihin Kyuko (Keikyu) Line at 10:50 am

Train: For those going from Shinagawa, Shinagawa Departure (Keihin Kyuko Line special express going towards Misakiguchi) – 9:40, Keikyu-Nagasawa Station Arrival – 10:47

Course: Keikyu-Nagasawa Station – Kurihama Pagoda & Goddess of Mercy – Mt. Miurafuji – Mt. Houdai – Mt. Takeyama – Tsukuihama Beach walk – Keikyu-Nagasawa Station

Mt. Takeyama  is the Miura Peninusula’s high point at 200 meters. It has a panoramic view.  The hiking time is about 4 hours.

Meeting Place/Time: Hanno Station ticket gate at 10:40

Train: If you are going from Ikebukuro, take the Seibu Ikebukuro (Express) Line’s 9:50 train and get off at Hanno Station, arriving there at 10:38.

Course: Hanno Station  ⇒ Miyazawa Lake ⇒ Koma Pass ⇒ Kinchakuda (near Kori River where we see the incredible Spider Lily Fields) ⇒ (Swimming in the river) ⇒ Koma Station.

Walking Time: About 3 hours.

Please bring your lunch and drinks.

If you want to swim after a hike in the river , please bring your swim suit.

Hiking Course : Minami-kurihashi Station – Takasuka Pond – Gongendo Park Festival (3,000,000 Spider Lillies) –  Satte City Historical Buildings walk – Satte Station

This hiking is about 4 hours (10 km) with a lot of fun mixed in.

Course: Uenohara Station – Muku no ki (a Natural Treasure) – Mt. Gozen – Sagami River (Swim) – Uenohara Station (Walking time: about 3 hours)

Please bring your lunch and drink, and wear appropriate shoes for hiking. If you want to swim, bring your swimsuit & towel.

 

2) Edogawa River Clean Up

Riverside Meetup: 10:30
Return to station: 13:00

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at Myoden Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at
10:00, and then go to the Edogawa River by car and pick up trash along
the banks for about 3 to 3.5 hours

INFO
If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location behind
Clean Center (incineration plant) and the Clean Spa. First walk to the
Myoden Bridge, cross it, and enter the rierside path on the embankement.
Then head in the direction of Tokyo Bay until you see us along the water
line. Also call James (the organizer) cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there
are any problems finding us.

RAIN
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as
we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up under
cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent areas using
rain ware. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon
conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled.

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at MINAMI SUNAMACHI Station (Tozai Line) outside the ticket gate
for Exit 5, and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the
banks for about about 3 5 to 4 hours with a break in the middle

WHAT TO BRING
Wear old clothing that you do not mind getting dirty, and please wear
long pants. Bare legs are not recommended because they can easily get
cut from objects like cut river reeds. Also, a hat is recommended,
especially during the summer months, and please bring lots of liquids to
drink. Bringing gloves is also recommended but we usually have some
extra pairs available to loan out.

ADDITIONAL INFO
If you come late, it will be about a 20 min. walk to our location at
the water line near the Tozai Line bridge. Just follow the Tozai Line to
the river and look for us at the water line. Call James (the organizer)

Let’s admire the view from the top of Mt. Haruna(1449m) easily by taking a ropeway. We visit a spiritually powerful shrine as well.

The buses are running infrequently and we will be unable to wait for the next bus.  Please be sure to arrive by the appointed meeting time.

☆Train: If you are coming from Tokyo, take the 7:27 JR Ueno Tokyo Line    train from Tokyo Station (going towards Kagohara. This arrives at Kagohara Station at 8:43. Take the 8:45 Takasaki Line train going towards Takasaki. This train arrives at Takasaki Station at 9:17.
