Let’s admire the view from the top of Mt. Haruna(1449m) easily by taking a ropeway. We visit a spiritually powerful shrine as well.

☆Meeting Time/Place: 9:20 JR Takasaki Station
The buses are running infrequently and we will be unable to wait for the next bus.  Please be sure to arrive by the appointed meeting time.

☆Train: If you are coming from Tokyo, take the 7:27 JR Ueno Tokyo Line    train from Tokyo Station (going towards Kagohara. This arrives at Kagohara Station at 8:43. Take the 8:45 Takasaki Line train going towards Takasaki. This train arrives at Takasaki Station at 9:17.

☆Course: Takasaki Station 9:30(dpt) -bus- 10:55(arr) Harunako -(0:20)- Haruna-Kogen Station -ropeway- Haruna-Fuji-Sancho Station -(0:10)- Haruna-FUji Shrine -(0:10)- Haruna-Fuji-Sancho Station -ropeway- Haruna-Kogen Station -(0:20)- Harunako 14:30(dpt) -bus- 15:55(arr) Takasaki Station

☆Hiking Time: Approximately 1 hour (about 3.5km) plus time for rest and bus so the hike should take around 6 hours.

Those who wish

go with David,  please meet at Hino Station (on the Chuo Line)

gate at 9:27.  We will take the 9:32 bus from there (15 minutes).

Work hours: 10:00 – 15:30
 (Cutting bamboo grass, pick up chestnut
shells, collect chestnuts?)

Please wear long pants and long-sleeved shirt and exercise shoes.  Please
bring your own drinks, food (for lunch) and work gloves.

Train: If you are going from Ikebukuro, take the Seibu Ikebukuro (Express) Line’s 9:50 train and get off at Hanno Station, arriving there at 10:38.

Course: Hanno Station – Mt. Tenran – Mt. Tonosu – Iruma River (Swimming
& river fun) – Hanno Station

Walking time: About 3.5 hours

Please wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots), bring lunch and plenty of liquids.

Akigawa Hiking & Swimming

Meeting place and time: 10:40 am at the ticket gate of JR Musashi-Itsukaichi Station (the last stop of the Itsukaichi Line)

Train: Haijima Departure (JR Itsukaichi Line) – 10:20, Musashi-Itsukaichi (the last stop) Arrival – 10:37

Course: Musashi-Itsukaichi Station – Mt. Konpira – hoshitake Line
– Akigawa River (we will swim and play along the river as we walk
back to the station (along road and river) – Musashi-Itsukaichi Station

Walking Time: About 4 hours

Bring lunch and drinks and your swimsuit if you want to swim!

Meeting Time/Place: Yanagawa Station Ticket Gate at 10:45 am

Train:  (for those coming from Takao) 10:18 Takao Departure on the Chuo Line (towards Ootsuki) 10:43 Arrive at Yanagawa Station

Trains are not running frequently and we can’t wait for the next train.  Please come by the appointed time as we won’t be able to attend to latecomers.

Yanagawa has a nice gorge that you can swim into. Or you can simply hang out on the riverside, have some eats and drinks, wade a bit and take a stroll along the bank.

Please bring your lunch and drink.

You are welcome to leave anytime. The organizers plan to leave on the 13:25 train (going towards Tokyo).

Okutama Hiking and Swimming

Meeting Place/Time: Hatonosu Station ticket gate at 10:37 am

Since the train is running in frequently (JR Oume Line), we won’t wait for the next train and attend to the latecomers.  Please come to the meeting place by the appointed time.

Train: Oume Station Departure 9:50 – Hatonosu Station Arrival 10:35

Course: Hatonosu Station – Hatonosu Gorge (Swim) – Tamagawa River (for river walk) – Shiromaru Dam – Tamagawa  (near Okutama Station) – Okutama Station

The course finishes up at Tama river near Okutama Station, where we will enjoy swimming, snacking and drinking.

Please bring your lunch and drinks and swimming suit/towel if you are swimming.

Rice field art expresses pictures and letters on paddy fields using colorful rice plants. It was certified as the “World’s Largest Rice Field Art” by the Guinness World Records.

Meeting Time/Place: 10:00 JR Takasaki Line Gyoda Station ticket gate

The buses are running infrequently and we will be unable to wait for the next bus. Please be sure to arrive by the appointed meeting time.

Course : Gyoda Station -city circulation bus- Rice Paddy Art Venue-city circulation bus- Gyoda Station

Walking Time: Less an hour (less than 1km) plus a lot of time for bus and sightseeing so the walk should take about 2 hours.

14:30, and then go to the Edogawa River by car and pick up trash
along
the banks for about 3 to 3.5 hours

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location
behind
Clean Center (incineration plant) and the Clean Spa. First walk
to the
Myoden Bridge, cross it, and enter the riverside path on the
embankment. Then head in the direction of Tokyo Bay until you see
us
along the water line. Also call James’ (the organizer) cell

090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled
as
we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up
under
cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent areas
using
rain ware. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g.,
typhoon
conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled.

train (going towards Zushi・Hayama) . This arrives at Zushi・Hayama at 13:01

Course  – Zushi・Hayama Station – Kuki Big Pond Park – Kamakura\Zushi Highlands – Ookirigishi Cliffs – Nagoshi Green Area – Gandenji Temple – Zushi Beach (Sunset) – Zushi・Hayama Station. (About 8 km)

We plan to get to the beach at around 15:45 and enjoy swimming, eating
and drinking and beach fun.
