RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at NISHI KASAI Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate, and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the banks  for about about 3 5 to 4 hours.

If you come late, it will be about a 25 min. walk to our location not far from the Kasaibashi Bridge in the upstream direction. Call  James’ (the organizer) cell phone 090-1847 5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN:

In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled. Please bring rain gear and we will take shelter (under a  bridge) until any downpours let up. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled (and usually moved to a different day).

Hakone Fall Colors Hiking

(Participation Fee 1000 yen) (Intermediate (on the difficult side)(Cancelled in case of rain)

Meeting time and place: At the gate of Daiyuzan station (Daiyuzan line) at 9:50am

We won’t be able to attend the latecomers, as the trains are running infrequently and we need to start a hike as scheduled, .  Please make sure to come to the meeting place on time.

Train: If you are coming from Shinjuku, take the following train:
Take Odakyu Line at Shinjuku station 7:41 – Odawara station 9:07.  From there, take the 9:24 Daiyuzan train (280 yen) to Daiyuzan Station (arriving at 9:45).

*Please note that it will be crowded and the Daiyuzan Line is about 7-8 minutes from the Odakyu Line (at Odawara Station). So allow yourself time for the transfer and toilet time.

Course: Daiyuzan Station – Sai-Jo-Ji Temple (a spectacular temple for fall colors) – Myoujingatake(1169m)(nice views of Mt. Fuji in good weather) – Goura  –  Hakoneyumoto (by the Hakone Railway) – Hakoneyumoto Station

Walking time: About 5.5 hours

Please put on appropriate shoes for a hike and bring your lunch and drink.

It’s a casual board game event. Let’s play various games together.  It’s OK to come late or leave early. Feel free to sign up.

MEETING TIME AND PLACE: 9:00 am in front of the ticket gate of Takaosanguchi Station of the Keio Line.

Train: Take the 8:43 Keio Line (going towards Takaosanguchi) from Kitano, arriving at Takaosanguchi Station at 8:57.

Course:Takaosanguchi Station – Nishiyama Pass – Mt.Taikouji → Mt. Enokubo → (Shiroyama Lake view) → Mt.Kusato – Hachioji Ginko Tree Festival – Takaosanguchi Station

Walking time: 5 hours

Hachioji Ginko Tree Festival

Things to bring: Your lunch, drinks, and shoes which are appropriate for hiking

 

2) 江戸川ゴミ拾い

River Clean Up: 13:30
Relaxing riverside: 17:00
Return to station: 17:30

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at Myoden Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 13:00, and then go to the Edogawa River and pick up trash along the banks for about about 3.5 to 4 hours.

INFO
If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location on the opposite side of the river from the Clean Spa under the bay front bridges. Just walk to the river from the station and the head to the orange bridge. Also call James’ (the organizer) cell phone 090-1847 5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up under cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent areas using rain ware. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled.

Autumn in Hakone is impressive. Onshi-Hakone Park is distinguished by the beauty of Lake Ashinoko, Mount Fuji, and the mountains which surround the park.

Meeting Time/Place:  10:00AM at Odakyu Line Hakone-Yumoto Station Ticket Gate

Course: Hakone-Yumoto Station -bus(0:33)-  Onshi-Hakone Park – Hakone-no-mori –
Otamagaike – Shojinike Rokudo Jizo Bus Stop -bus(0:26)- Hakone-Yumoto Station

Walking Time: About 1 and a half hours (about 3.5km) plus a lot of time
for sightseeing so the walk should take about 3 hours.

Akagiyama Hiking

Mt. Akagi is one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains. Just have a breathtaking view from Jizodake Peak. You can enjoy alpine plants around Kakumanbuchi Marsh.

Course: Maebashi Station 10:35(dpt) -bus- 11:41(arr) Shin-Sakadaira-(0:55)- Jizodake -(0:30)- Konumatoge -(0:05)-Konumatoge Junction-(0:20)- Toriitoge -(0:20)- Visitor Center 15:15(dpt) -bus- 16:35(arr)- Maebashi Station

Train: If you are coming from Tokyo, take the 7:51 JR Tokaido Main Line (Ueno Tokyo Line) train from Tokyo Station (going towards Takasaki).

This arrives at Takasaki Station at 9:44. Take the 10:07 Ryomo Line train going towards Isezaki. This train arrives at Maebashi Station at 10:21.

Hiking Time: About 2 hours and 10 minutes (5km) plus time for rest so the hike should take about 3 and half hours.

Meeting Place/Time: Please come by the appointed time as we can’t attend to the latecomers. Trains (JR Gotenba Line) are not running frequently and we need to start hiking as scheduled, so we can’t wait for the next train.

Course: Yaga Station – Mt. Ohno (723 M) – Shasui Waterfall – Yamakita Station

Walking Time: About five and a half hours

Be sure to bring your lunch and drinks.  Also, please wear the appropriate shoes for a hike.

This course includes the Shasui Waterfall, one of Japan’s top 100 waterfalls.
