Meeting Place and time: 9:47 am at Utsugidai Bus Stop
Those who wish to go with David, please meet at Hino Station (on the Chuo Line) ticket gate at 9:27.  We will take the 9:32 bus from there (15
minutes).

Work hours: 10:00 – 15:30
 (Carrying logs, chopping wood, digging up bamboo shoots?)

Please wear long pants and long-sleeved shirt and exercise shoes. Please
bring your own drinks, food (for lunch) and work gloves.

(Be careful not to get off at JR Zushi station)

Train: (if coming through Kanazawa-Bunko) Kanazawa-bunko Departure (Keihin-Kyuko Express)  11:00 – Zushi-Hayama Arrival – 11:11

Course: ZushiHayama Station – Morito River Walk – Mt. Nyuto – Tsukayama Park – Verni Park Full Moon Party – Yokosuka Station

Distance: about 11 km (about 4 hours)

Please bring food and drinks.  Please wear appropriate shoes for a hike.

 

2) Arakawa River Clean Up
Organized by Tokyo River Friends

Gather at FUNABORI Station: 10:00
Gather riverside 10:30
Finishing up: 14:30

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at FUNABORI Station (Shinjuku Line) outside the only
ticket
gate,
and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along 
the
 banks for
about 3.5 to 4 hours.

ADDITIONAL INFO
If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location 
at
the
 dirty angle between the Shinjuku train line bridge 
and
 the
Kasaibashi
 Bridge but much closer to the Shinjuku train
line
bridge.
Call the  organizer  (James 090-1847-5075) if there are 
any
 problems
finding us.

RAIN
In the event of light or medium rain, this event will
NOT
be
cancelled.
 Please bring rain gear and we will take shelter
(under
 a 
bridge) until
 any downpours let up. In the event of heavy
rain/strong
 winds (e.g.,
typhoon conditions) or lightning, then the
event will be
 cancelled (and 
usually moved to a different day).

Meeting place and time: At the ticket gate of Higashi Akiru Station (on
the JR Itsukaichi Line) at 10:03 am

Train: From Haijima Station, take the 9:56 JR Itsukaichi Line (going towards Musashi-Itsukaichi), arriving at Higashi Akiru Station at 10:01

Course: Higashi Akiru Station – Mt. Daicho (192 m) Hiking Course – Hamura Tulip Field – Fussa Cherry Tree Festival – Fussa Station

Walking Time: about 5 hours

Please bring your lunch and drink.

SCHEDULE
Gather at NISHI KASAI Station: 13:00
Gather riverside 13:30
Finishing up: 17:00

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at NISHI KASAI Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket
gate, and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the
banks
 for about about 3 5 to 4 hours with a break in the middle.

WHAT TO BRING
Wear old clothing that you do not mind getting dirty, and please wear
long pants. Bare legs are not recommended because they can easily get
cut from objects like cut river reeds. Also, a hat is
recommended,
especially during the summer months, and please bring lots
of liquids to
 drink. Bringing gloves is also recommended but we usually
have some 
extra pairs available to loan out.

ADDITIONAL INFO
If you come late, it will be about a 25-30 min. walk to our location
on
the island under the elevated C2 highway walking from the Kasaibashi
Bridge under the Tozai Line bridge to the end of the pod section. Call

Chidorigafuchi Night Cherry Blossom Viewing

Tonight’s cherry blossom viewing will take place as scheduled.

Meeting Places/Times: Exit 3b of Kudanshita Station at 6 pm or in front of the clock tower near Budokan at 6:30 pm

Course: Cherry Blossom viewing party: 6:45 pm – 8 pm in Kita-no-maru park

After that, we will walk around Yasukuni Shrine and the moat area to see the nighttime cherry trees.

Those meeting at 6:00 will shop at the nearby convenience store. Those coming afterwards, please bring some snacks/drinks. If you come late, please go to the Kita no Maru Park (next to the pond) which is past the Budokan on the right side.  If you can’t find us, please call (not text messaging) David and Miki (080-6546-7688).

Meeting Time/Place: 11:30 am at Kameido Station (Sobu Line) East Exit Ticket Gate

Course:  (About 4 hours walking = 9 km) 
Kameido Station → Kameido Cherry Tree Lined Green Road →  Sarue Park (Lunch & cherry blossom viewing) → Yokojukkengawa Shinsui Canal cherry walk  → Sendaibori Canal cherry walk → Komatsugawa 1000 cherry tree area (Edogawa Ward)→ Higashi-Ojima Station  → Supermarket (shopping) → Higashi-Ojima Komatsugawa Park (4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Party,  frisbee, etc)

Please bring food and drink, or you can buy it at a nearby ConvenientStore. For those joining along the way, please contact David and Miki directly at 080-6546-7688, as we won’t be checking our cell phones frequently.

Cherry Blossom Walk along Meguro River

It’s one of the best places to see cherry blossoms in Tokyo.

☆Course: Ikejiri-Ohashi Station – Meguro River – Nakameguro – Meguro Shimbashi – Meguro Station

☆Walking Time: About 1 hour (about 4km) plus a lot of time for sightseeing so the walk should take about 2 hours.

Funabashi Canola Flowers Walk

The bright yellow rapeseed flowers make you feel the arrival of spring.  Let’s enjoy spectacular views of rapeseed fields together.

☆Meeting Time/Place: 9:58 Shin-Keisei Line Misaki Station Ticket Gate

We will take a bus which leaves at 10:03. The buses are running infrequently and we will be unable to wait for the next bus.  Please be sure to arrive by the appointed meeting time.

☆Course: Misaki Station -bus- Funabashi Andersen Park -bus- Misaki Station

☆Walking Time: About 1 hour (about 1km) plus a lot of time for sightseeing so the walk should take about 2 hours.

1) Ogawamachi Hike
(Intermediate Course) (1000 yen Participation Fee) (Cancelled in case of  rain)

Meeting Time/Place: 10:15 at Tobu Takezawa Station ticket gate

Train:  Please make sure to come by the appointed time.  Trains are not running frequently and we can’t wait for the next train and attend to the latecomers.

If you are going from Ikebukuro, take the following trains: Ikebukuro Departure (Tobu Tojo Rapid Express towards Ogawamachi) 9:00, Ogawamachi Station Arrival – 10:08 and change trains (Tobu Tojo local train going for Yorii) Ogawamachi Departure – 10:11,  Tobu Takezawa Arrival – 10:14

Course: Tobu Takezawa Station – Mt. Kinsho – Tenno Marsh – Mt. Kannokurayama –  Mt.Sekison – Ogawawamachi Station

We will have a 5 hour hike that takes us up 3 low mountains (250m – 450m) and next to a marsh. Bring your own beverages and food for lunch, also make sure to wear appropriate shoes for a hike.

If you want to go to the hot springs near Ogawamachi Station, please bring a change of clothes and a towel.
