Meet at the ticket gate of Koma Station at 10:13AM or at the front car of the 8:50 train at Ikebukuro.
From Ikebukuro Station, take the Seibu Ikebukuro Line train (express) at 9:05AM to Hanno Station (arriving at 10:01) and change there to the Seibu Chichibu Line (just across the platform), leaving at 10:04 . This arrives at Koma station at 10:11.

This hike finishes off at Kinchakuda (a beautiful field of Cosmos & Chrysallis flowers) and you can eat at the Organic Natural food restaurant “Alishan” (where the people who camped out can leave their things).
Bring your lunch and plenty of liquids.
Please don’t forget to bring a rucksack for your food/drinks and wear exercise shoes!

We will camp on a small river behind the ALISHAN Natural Foods Restaurant near Koma Station. We must have our own tents. If you have a tent and have extra space in the tent, or if you want to join but don’t have a tent, please let me know, and I’ll try to arrange things. There is a convenient store near to the station to buy drinks and food. From Ikebukuro, take the 18:40 Seibu Ikebukuro Line Express, which arrives in Hanno at 19:28. Change trains there, to the Seibu Chichibu Line’s 19:45 train and take it to Koma Station, arriving at 19:51. Please don’t miss this train.

We’ll meet at the Koma Station ticket gate at 19:53.
From Shinjuku, take the Special Holiday Express train going towards Okutama (it’s the Chuo Line but may be on another track which is not the main Chuo Line track – BE CAREFUL!) to Okutama (leaving Shinjuku at 8:47 and arriving at Okutama at 10:24).
David will be at the Okutama Station ticket gate at 10:27 to bring you to the supermarket and the river. We’ll hike to Shiromaru (about 1.5 hours), where we will meet others for a BBQ, canoeing, and swimming. Very laid back day!!! (The supermarket in Okutama doesn’t have much so feel free to bring food for the BBQ from Tokyo.)

We will meet at the Hatonosu Station Ticket gate at 9:35AM . Take the Oume Line train from Tachikawa at 8:20AM . This arrives at Oume (the last stop) at 8:55 . Cross the platform and take the 8:56 (Okutama bound) train. This arrives at Hatonosu at 9:32AM .

OKUTAMA CAMPING & RIVER FUN
(Cancelled in case of rain)(Camping fee 700 yen)
The Hikawa Campground is about a 10 minute walk from the station. We’ll buy food and drink at the nearby supermarket, go swimming, and enjoy the starry sky. If you have your own tent, no reservation is necessary. If you need to borrow a tent or want to stay in a bungalow there, you must contact the Okutama Hikawa Cammpground at 0428-83-2134 to reserve.
David will be at the Okutama Station ticket gate at 16:23 to bring you to the supermarket and the campground. From Tachikawa, take the 15:05 Oume Line train (going towards Oome), arriving in Oome at 15:39. Change to the Oume Line, going towards Okutama, leaving at 15:46 and arriving at Okutama (the last stop) at 16:23. We’ll meet at the ticket gate at 16:25.

If the weather is hot and humid, we will do a short 2 hour return course from Yanagawa Station and then swim in the river in the afternoon. If it’s relatively cool outside, we will do a 5 hour loop course up to Mt. Kuratake.
Then, we will relax on the Yanagawa River in the afternoon.
You can stroll along the river and swim into a gorge.
You can also just skip the hike and hang out on the river all day.
Please bring your lunch and drink.

Take the 9:19AM Odakyu Line train from Shinjuku (going towards Fujisawa). This arrives at Fujisawa at 10:17AM. Switch to the 10:22 JR Tokaido train going to Chigasaki, arriving there at 10:29.
Leszek will get on the front car of the Odakyu Line train at Shimokitazawa (so ride there if you want to go together) and on the front car of the Tokaido Line train at Fujisawa.
