Meeting place and time: 10:15 am at the ticket gate of JR Musashi-Itsukaichi Station (the last stop of the Itsukaichi Line)

Train: Haijima Departure (JR Itsukaichi Line) – 9:56, Musashi-Itsukaichi (the last stop) Arrival – 10:13

Course: Musashi-Itsukaichi Station – Walk along the Akigawa River 
– Akigawa River (we will swim and play along the river as we walk – Musashi-Itsukaichi Station

There is an outdoor cafe on the river (for those who want to go).

Walking Time: About 4 hours (only 2 hours if you decide to return to the station by bus). Bring lunch and drinks and your swimsuit if you want to swim!

Meeting Time/Place: Yanagawa Station Ticket Gate at 11:35 am

Train:  (for those coming from Takao) 11:09 Takao Departure on the Chuo Line (towards Kofu) 11:33 Arrive at Yanagawa Station

Trains are not running frequently and we can’t wait for the next train.  Please come by the appointed time as we won’t be able to attend to latecomers.

Yanagawa has a nice gorge that you can swim into. Or you can simply hang out on the riverside, have some eats and drinks, wade a bit and take a stroll along the bank. Also, there is a hiking course nearby for anyone who wants to hike a bit.

Please bring your lunch and drink. You are welcome to leave anytime.

 

2) Edogawa River Clean Up

SCHEDULE
Gather at Myoden Station: 14:30
Riverside Meetup: 15:00
Return to station: 18:30

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at Myoden Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate,
and
then go to the Edogawa River and pick up trash along the banks for
about 3.5 to 4 hours.

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location
behind
 Clean Center (incineration plant) and the Clean Spa. First walk
to the
 Myoden Bridge, cross it, and enter the riverside path on the
embankment.
Then head in the direction of Tokyo Bay until you see us
along the water
line. Also call James (the organizer) cell phone
090-1847-5075 if there 
are any problems finding us.

RAIN
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled
as we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up
under
cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent
areas.
 In 
the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon
conditions) or
 lightning then the event will be cancelled.

Let’s view the 6m-tall waterfall, visit a pleasant park with ornamental ponds and a sacred shrine then cool off in a free museum.

☆Course: Yotsuya Station – Hotel New Otani Japanese Garden – Shimizudani Park – Hirakawa Tenmangu – Hanzomon Museum – Ichigaya Station

☆Walking Time: About 1 hour (about 3km) plus a lot of time for sightseeing so the walk should take about 2 hours.

Wear old clothing that you do not mind getting dirty, and please
wear
long pants. Bare legs are not recommended because they can easily
get
cut from objects like cut river reeds. Also, a hat is
recommended,
especially during the summer months, and please bring lots
of liquids to
drink. Bringing gloves is also recommended but we usually
have some
extra pairs available to loan out.

Miura Walk and Beach Fun

(¥1000 Participation Fee) (Cancelled in case of rain) (Easy)

We will have about a 2 hour walk ending at the 500 meter long Miura Beach. We will walk along the beach and find a spot to park and eat, drink, go swimming and have some beach fun. There will be convenient stores near the beach.

Meeting Place/Time: Keihin Kyuko Line Misakiguchi Station at 13:55

If going from Yokohama station, take the 12:59 Keihin Kyuko Line express train bound for Misakiguchi.  Get off at the last station (Misakiguchi).  It arrives  there at 13:53

Course: Misakiguchi Station – Tree lined street – Komatsugaike Pond – Hakusan Shrine – Miura Beach – MiuraKaigan Station

Much of the walk (and the beach) is not shaded, so bring sunscreen. We will not stop for lunch.

Please bring a beach mat or towel, a swimsuit, and anything else you might want for the beach.

Takiyama Castle Ruins & Water Fun

Place: Akishima Station south exit at Oume Line

Train: Tachikawa Departure (JR Oume Line) 9:56  – Akishima Arrival 10:07

Course: Akishima Station – Haijibashi – Takiyama Castle Ruin (Lunch) –  Walk along the Akigawa River until Higashiakirubashi bridge (swim and water fun) – Higashiakiru Station on the Itsukaichi Line

Walking about 13 km – Mostly flat

Please bring lunch and drinks, as well as swimming suite and a towel if you want to swim.

Let’s admire the view from the top of Mt. Minobu(1153m) easily by taking a ropeway. We visit a spiritually powerful spots as well.
