Part 1): Zenpukuji River Walk

Meeting place and time: 9:30 am at Eifukucho Station (Keio Inokashira line) ticket gate

Course: Eifukucho Station (Keio Inokashira Line) – Ryukoji Temple – Wada Bori Park – Zenpukuji Green Park  – Hamadayama Station (Keio Inokashira Line)

Walking Time: About 2 hours (5.5 km)

Bring your lunch and drinks.

 

Part 2): Kanda River “Full of Cherry Blossoms” Walk

Meeting place and time: 11:45 am at Hamadayama Station (Keio Inokashira Line) ticket gate

Course : Hamadayama Station – Tsukayama Park (Lunch) – Walk along the Kanda River (full of Cherry Trees) – Inokashira Park

We will have a cherry blossom viewing party in the park after the walk (probably from about 4:00 pm).

 

 

2) Arakawa River Clean Up

Chidorigafuchi Night Cherry Blossom Viewing

★According to the weather forecast, it looks like the rain will stop in the early after afternoon and tonight is nice, so today’s event is on as planned. There’s a possibility that the ground might be wet, so please bring a sheet to sit on if you have one.

★The party place – In Kita no Maru Park next to the pond, which is past the Budokan on the right side.

After that, we will walk around Yasukuni Shrine and the moat area to see the nighttime cherry trees.

 

Those meeting at 6:00 will shop at the nearby convenience store. Those coming afterwards, please bring some snacks/drinks.

Mt. Ogusu Hiking

Meeting Place and Time: Kinugasa Station at 10:12 am

Train: From Zushi station, take the 9:55 Yokosuka Line train towards Kurihama.  Get off at Kinugasa Station at 10:10

Hiking Course: Kinugasa Station – Kinugasayama Parke (2000 cherry trees
and ranked in the top 100 cherry tree spots in Japan) – Mt. Oogusu (242m) –
Tsukayama Park (with 10,000 cherry trees) – Anjinzuka Station

The hike itself is about 5 hours.

Please be noted that we are unsure whether the cherry blossoms will be in bloom on the day of the hike.

The Kanda River is a mostly man-made aqueduct designed to bring drinking water to the shogun’s capital. Let’s enjoy walking along the river viewing nature and history.

Meeting Time/Place: 11:00 Tokyo Metro Edogawabashi Station Ticket Gate

Course: Edogawabashi Station – Edogawa Park – Site of Kanda Freshwater Intake Ōarai Weir – Sekiguchi Bashoan – Basho Residence – Fish Path -Totsuka Regional Center – Takadanobaba Station

Walking Time: About 1 hour (about 3km) plus a lot of time for sightseeing so the walk should take about 2 hours.

Meeting time and place: SeisekiSakuragaoka Station on the Keio Line at 9:55 am

Course: SeisekiSakuragaoka Station – Ono Shrine –  Ichinomiya Park –  Iroha Slope Park – Haramine Park –Sakuragaoka Park – Sakuragaoka  Green Area – Wakabadai Park  – Wakabadai Station

This walking course includes a walk along a river, a couple of green areas, several parks and a couple of shrines. It’s an easy, fun walk which should last about 4.5 hours (about 10 km)

Please bring your food and drink with you.

 

2) Tama River Clean Up

Return to station 17:00

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at Kojimashinden Station outside the only ticket gate at 13:00
and then go to the Tamagawa River and pick up trash along the banks for
about about 3.5 to 4 hours.

INFO:
If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location under
or near the new Tamagawa Sky Bridge (But walk straight to the river
first as there is no access from the bridge.) Also call my cell phone

RAIN:

as we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up under
cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent areas using

Train: If you go from Ikebukuro: Tobu Tojo Line Ikebukuro (express going towards Shinrin Koen) – 8:44, Sakado Arrival – 9:30.  Get off and change to the 9:36 Ogose Line train, Ogose Arrival – 10:00

Course: Ogose station → Hoonji Temple→ NishiYama Takatori → Mt.Otakatori → Ogose Plum Tree Park (festival)→ Ogose Station

Walking time: 4-5 hours.

Ogose Plum Tree Park, which should be in bloom and has 1,000 trees, with some being 670 years old.  We’ll enjoy the festival there before returning to Ogose Station.
