Meeting Place/Time: Uenohara Station Ticket Gate at 10:20 am

Train Schedule:
9:57 Takao Departure (JR Chuo Line (towards Matsumoto)
10:19 Arrive at Uenohara
Be sure to get there at this time as we cannot wait for the next train.

Course: Uenohara Station – Muku no ki (a Natural Treasure) – Mt. Gozen  – Sagami River – Uenohara Station (Walking time: about 3 hours)

Please bring your lunch and drink, and wear appropriate shoes for hiking.

We ask for you to provide your contact information (email address and phone number) just in case one of the participants gets infected with Corona (in which case, we will contact all participants on that event). Also, if you are tested positive for Corona after the event, please let us know so we can inform others.

Chichibu Hiking – Waterfall and Scenic Experience

(Please make sure to arrive at this time since the train is infrequent and we can’t wait for the next train)

Course:  Nishi Agano Station – Ogi no Daira – Shirataki Waterfall – Fudou Waterfall – Big Waterfall – Nishi Agano Station
About 4 hours

Miura Peninsula (Mt. Futago) Hiking
(Intermediate Course) (1000 yen Participation Fee) (We go even with light rain)

Meeting Place/Time: (Keihin-Kyuko) ZushiHayama Station 10:07 am
(Be careful not to get off at JR Zushi station)

TRAIN: (if coming through Kanazawa-Bunko)
Kanazawa-bunko Departure (Keihin-Kyuko Honsen Airport Express going towards Zushi-Hayama)  9:55 – Zushi-Hayama Arrival – 10:05

COURSE: ZushiHayama Station – Mt. Futago – Taura Plum Park – Taura Station

Distance: about 12 km, elevation Gain: about 200 meters
4 hour hike in the Zushi area, with evergreen forests, and going up Mt. Futago.

Please wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots)

Gather at Barakinakayama Station: 14:30

Go to the river by car: 14:40

River Clean Up: 15:00

Relaxing riverside: 18:30-19:00

Return to station by Car: 19:00

RIVER CLEAN UP

Gather at Barakinakayama Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 14:30., and then go to the Edogawa River by car and pick up trash along the banks for about about 3 hours.

OPTIONAL MORNING SESSION

As I will be on the river in the morning doing some scouting and precleaning, people welcome to join me at that time, but please make specific arrangements with me by e-mail, arrival time, location, etc.

INFO:

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location on the opposite side of the river from the Clean Spa. Just walk to the river from the station and the head in the direction of Tokyo Bay until you see us along the water line. Also call James (the organizer) at 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN:

In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up under cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent areas using rain ware. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled.

Jambo Zoom explanatory meeting (2 parts)

Time: There will be 2 parts of the Zoom meeting.
(1) Jambo Leaders wanted in July and August: Zoom time: 8:00 pm – 8:30 pm
(2) Gardening Project: Zoom time: 8:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Jambo organizers (David and Miki) will be away from early July until the end of August.
If you are interested in possibly doing a hike or other event for Jambo during this time, please join in.
*Upon the extension or re-announcement of an emergency decree this summer, the Jambo events will be automatically canceled.

If you are interested in, but cannot join on Friday, please contact Miki and David at contact@jambointernational.org by June 17.

2) Gardening Project
We are considering leasing land from next year for a Jambo garden/project in the western part of Tokyo (Musashino city, Mitaka city and Fuchu area). If you are interested in learning more about it, or have suggestions on leasing land or setting up a garden, please join in.

2) Arakawa River Clean Up

Gather at Funabori Station: 14:30

Go to the river 14:40

River Clean Up: 15:00-18:30

Relaxing riverside: 18:30-19:00

RIVER CLEAN UP

Gather at FUNABORI Station (Shinjuku Line) outside the ticket gate at 14:30, and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the river bank for about about 3 to 3 and half hours.

MORNING SESSION (optional)

As I will be on the river in the morning doing some scouting and precleaning, people, who may not be free in the afternoon, are welcome to join me at that time. Please go directly to the river as well as call James (the organizer) (090-1847-5075) to coordinate a meeting place.

INFO:

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location on the river at the waterline between the Shinjuku Line train bridge and the Kasaibashi Bridge. Also call my James’ phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN:

In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as we will use rain ware and take cover as necessary. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled or stopped if already in progress.
