Meeting Place and time: 9:47 am at Utsugidai Bus Stop
Those who wish to go with David, please meet at Hino Station (on the Chuo Line) ticket gate at 9:27.  We will take the 9:32 bus from there (15 minutes).

Work hours; 10:00 – 15:30
Please wear long pants and long-sleeved shirt and exercise shoes.  Please bring your own drinks, food (for lunch) and work gloves.

Miura Peninsula (Mt. Futago) Hiking
(Intermediate Course) (1000 yen Participation Fee) (We go even with light rain)

Meeting Place/Time: (Keihin-Kyuko) Zushi-Hayama Station 10:07 am
(Be careful not to get off at JR Zushi station)

TRAIN: (if coming through Kanazawa-Bunko)
Kanazawa-bunko Departure (Keihin-Kyuko Honsen Airport Express going towards Zushi-Hayama)  9:55 – Zushi-Hayama Arrival – 10:05

COURSE:  ZushiHayama Station – Mt. Futago – Taura Plum Park – Taura Station
Distance: about 12 km(about 4 hours), elevation Gain: about 200 meters

Please bring lunch and drink.
Also, please make sure to wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots)

<Requests to the participants>
1) Wearing a mask and keep social distance
When you are near other people or talking with others, please wear the mask.  Remember to keep both mouth and nose covered, not hanging under the chin except when you start to feel sick or have a problem breathing.

2) Physical Condition
If you are feeling feverish or feel unwell, please refrain from joining the event.

3) Contact Information
We ask for you to provide your contact information (email address and phone number) just in case one of the participants gets infected with Corona (in which case, we will contact all participants on that event). Also, if you are tested positive for Corona after the event, please let us know so we can inform others.

In order to continue holding safe events, we ask for all participants’ cooperation concerning these requests.

1) Chichibu Hiking   (1000 yen Participation fee) (Intermediate Course) (Cancelled in case of rain)

Meeting Place & Time: Higashi Agano Station at 10:22 am

Train: From Hanno Station, take the Seibu Chichibu Line train (local/bound for Seibuchichibu) at 10:05 am and get off at Higashi Agano Station at 10:20 am.

Course: Higashi Agano Station – Mt Monomi – Mt. Hiwada –  – Kinchakuda – Koma Station (about 4 hours)

Bring your lunch and drink.
Please wear appropriate shoes for a hike!

Gather at Funabori Station: 13:00
Go to the river: 13:10
River Clean Up: 13:30-17:00
Relaxing riverside: 17:00-17:30
Return to station: 17:30

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at FUNABORI Station (Shinjuku Line) outside the only ticket gate at 13:00, and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the banks for about about 3 hours.

MORNING SESSION (optional)

As I will be on the river in the morning doing some scouting and precleaning, people, who may not be free in the afternoon, are welcome to join me at that time. Please go directly to the river as well as call James (the organizer) (090-1847-5075) to coordinate a meeting place.

INFO:

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location on the river at the waterline between the Shinjuku Line train bridge and the Kasaibashi Bridge. Also call James cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN:

In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as we will use rain ware and take cover as necessary. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled or stopped if already in progress. Let’s have fun enjoying our local nature while making it better at the same time.

Tama Green Paths/Town/Fields/Parks Walking Course
(1000 yen Participation Fee) (Easy)(Will be held even in light rain)

Meet place and time: At the Odakyu Line’s Satsukidai Station’s ticket gate at 11:00 am

Course: Satsukidai Station – Gorikida Observatory Park – Prefectural Border Ridge Path – Katahira River – Kuriki Green Course – Tama New Town Observatory Point -Kurokawayatsu Park – Wakabadai Station

It’s an easy 4-5 hour course (about 12 km) with a lot of greenery.

Bring your own lunch and beverages. Please wear good walking shoes.

If you come late, it will be about a 25 min. walk to our location about 200-300 meters or so from the Shinjuku Line Bridge (near the dirty angle). Call James’ (the organizer) cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN:
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled. Please bring rain gear and we will take shelter (under a bridge) until any downpours let up. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled (and usually moved to a different day).

Edogawa River Clean Up

SCHEDULE

RIVER CLEAN UP

Gather at Myoden Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 13:00, and then go to the Edogawa River by car and pick up trash along the banks for about 3 to 3.5 hours

INFO:

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location across the river from Clean Center (incineration plant) and the Clean Spa. Just walk to the river from the station and then head in the direction of Tokyo Bay until you see us along the water line. Also call my James (the organizer) phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

OPTIONAL MORNING SESSION:

As I am often on the river in the morning doing some scouting and precleaning, people welcome to join me at that time, but please make specific arrangements with me by e-mail, arrival time, location, etc. Also, members can clean at any time and even any date. Just bring some clear bags and sort the trash collected, burnable, PET, cans, bottles, nonburnable, etc. and let James know where you leave the bags so that we can collect them.

RAIN:

In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up under cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent areas using rain ware. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled.
