(1) Chichibu Hiking
(Participation Fee – 1000 yen) (Intermediate)(Cancelled in case of rain)

Meeting Place/Time: Agano Station at 10:10 am

Train: Hanno Station Departure – 9:43 (Seibu Chichibu line train going towards Seibu Chichibu)
Agano Station Arrival – 10:09

Be sure to take this train as we will be unable to wait for the next one.

The hike will be Agano Station – Maesaka – Mt. Ootaka – Mt. Tenkaku – Higashi Agano Station.
The hiking time is about 4  hours.

●Requests to the participants

1) Wearing a mask and keep social distance
When you are near other people or talking with others, please wear the mask. Remember to keep both mouth and nose covered except when you start to feel sick or have a problem breathing.

2) Physical Condition
If you are feeling feverish or feel unwell, please refrain from joining the event.

3) If you are tested positive for Corona after the event, please let us know so we can inform others.

 

(2) Game Night

It’s a casual board game event. Let’s play various games together. It’s OK to come late or leave early. Feel free to join us. Beginners are welcome.

Edogawa River Clean Up

Details

Gather at Myoden Station: 13:00
Go to the river by car: 13:10
River Clean Up: 13:30
Relaxing riverside: 17:30-18:00
Return to station by Car: 18:00

RIVER CLEAN UP

Gather at Myoden Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 13:00., and then go to the Edogawa River by car and pick up trash along the banks for about about 3 to 4 hours.

OPTIONAL MORNING SESSION

As I am often on the river in the morning doing some scouting and precleaning, people welcome to join me at that time, but please make specific arrangements with James (the organizer) by e-mail, arrival time, location, etc. Also, members can clean at any time and even any date. Just bring some clear bags and sort the trash collected, buranable, PET, cans, bottles, nonburanble, etc. and let me know where you leave the bags so that we can collect them.

INFO:

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location on the opposite side of the river from the Clean Spa. Just walk to the river from the station and the head in the direction of Tokyo Bay until you see us along the water line. Also call James’ (the organizer) cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN:

In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up under cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent areas using rain ware. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled.

Mt. Oyama New Year Hiking

It’s a sacred mountain since ancient times. The views from the summit and Oyama-Afuri Shrine are fantastic and the site was given a 2-star rating by Michelin Green Guide Japan.

Course: Isehara Station – Oyama Cable Station – Afuri Shrine – Mt. Oyama (1252m) – Observation Deck – Niju Falls – Afuri Shrine – Oyama Temple – Oyama Cable Station – Isehara Station

We will take a bus which leaves at 9:05.

Hiking Time: About 5 hours plus time for breaks and bus rides so the hike should take 7 hours.

☆The program is ¥1000.

☆The donation will be given to Riasunomori – an organization in Ishinomaki which works for community development.

Arakawa River Clean Up

Gather riverside: 13:30

River Clean Up: 13:30-17:00

Gather at NISHI KASAI Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 13:00, and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the banks for about 3 to 3.5 hours.

Let’s climb Mt. Fuji in Shinagawa (Tokyo)

Shinagawa Fuji is a fifteen-meter tall mound. Just like the name suggests, it is an artificial representation of famous Mount Fuji. Ever since the olden days, it was believed that climbing Mt. Fuji would bring good luck and blessings from the gods and Buddha. But alas, it takes not only great willpower, but enormous effort and preservation as well to climb the great mountain, and thus the Fujizuka was created.

Meeting Time/Place: 10:00 JR Yamanote Line Osaki Station south ticket gate

Course (about 2 hours): Osaki Station – Oyama – Shinagawa Fuji (15m) – Gongenyama – Gotenyama – Yatsuyama Fuiji – Shinagawa Station

Walking Time: About 1 hour (about 5km) plus a lot of time for sightseeing so the walk should take about 2 hours.
