Ancient seafront capital Kamakura is deeply connected to dunes. We’re going to visit historical spots and temples in Zaimokuza to see how Kamakura looks like.
Motoyawata standing on the dune, Fudarakuji with plentiful cultural assets, Komyoji with a huge gate and a rock garden, Wakaejima, the oldest port facility in Japan; they are all full of history.
Ships gathered there and trade with China flourished. Various Chinese culture like zen, architecture, sculpture, carved lacquer, etc. was brought about and such a prosperous medieval heritage has been handed down over the centuries.
