1) Miura Walk and Beach Fun

(¥1000 Participation Fee)   (Cancelled in case of rain) (EASY)

We will have about a 2 hour walk ending at the 500 meter long Miura Beach. We will walk along the beach and find a spot to park and eat, drink, go swimming and have some beach fun. There are toilets on the beach and convenient stores nearby. You can also join David to go to the nearby Miura Information Center to (cool off and) get information on Miura.

We will meet at Misakiguchi station on the Keihin Kyuko (Keikyuu) Line at 13:35. From Shinagawa station, take the 12:28 Keihin Kyuko Line express train bound for Misakiguchi. Get off at the last station (Misakiguchi). It arrives there at 13:33.

Course: Misakiguchi Station – Tree lined street – Komatsugaike Pond – Hakusan Shrine – Miura Beach – MiuraKaigan Station

Much of the walk (and the beach) is not shaded, so bring sunscreen. We will not stop for lunch, but you can buy drinks/snacks at Misakiguchi Station. Bring a beach mat/towel, beach ball, swimsuit, and whatever else you may want to use on the beach.

2) Arakawa River Clean Up + Picnic

This will be a 2-part event centered around a riverside picnic at 1:00pm. Participants can attend one or both sessions and or just the picnic. There will be 2 pick up times at NISHI KASAI Station

River Clean Up: 9:00a.m.-12:30p.m.
Riverside Picnic: 1:00p.m.-2:30p.m.

CLEAN UP SESSION:

Gather at NISHI KASAI Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 9:00a.m., and then go to the Arakawa River by car and pick up trash along the banks for about 2.5 to 3 hours.

PICNIC:

Gather at NISHI KASAI Station at 12:30p.m. and go to the river by car for a 1:00p.m. picnic start. Picnic will basically include bentos with desert (fruit/sweets), soft drinks and beer/wine. You can bring your own or I’ll buy some on the midday return to the station.

ALTERNATIVE AFTERNOON SESSION:

If anyone would like to come in the afternoon, I’ll still be on the river, and we can do an additional clean up session but be sure to message me for arrangements.

INFO:

Coming by bicycle is recommended if you live nearby as we’ll have to use/share bicycles to access restrooms in addition to the noon trip back to the station. If you come late, it will be about a 30-min walk to our location near under the Tozai Line bridge (but accessible via the Kaisaibashi Bridge). Also call my cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.
