Meeting place and time: 10:30 am at the ticket gate of Musashi-Itsukaichi Station (the last stop of the Itsukaichi Line)

Train:Haijima Departure (JR Itsukaichi Line) – 10:07 Musashi-Itsukaichi (the last stop) Arrival – 10:26

Course: Musashi-Itsukaichi Station – Mt. Konpira – HoshiTake Line – Akigawa River (we will swim and play along the river as we walk back to the station (along road and river) – Musashi-Itsukaichi Station

Walking Time: about 4 hours

Bring lunch and drinks and your swimsuit if you want to swim!

Meeting Time/Place: 13:55 at KataseEnoshima Station ticket gate

Train: If going from Shinjuku, take the 12:50 Odakyu Line Express going towards Fujisawa. Get off at Fujisawa (arriving at 13:46) and change to the Odakyu local going toward KataseEnoshima, leaving at 13:48. This arrives at KataseEnoshima at 13:54.

Course: KataseEnoshima Station – Subana Shopping Street – Ryuguchi Temple and Pagoda – East Beach – Enoshima Island (walk around the island) – West Beach (swimming and beach fun) – KataseEnoshima Station

Walking time: About 2.5 hours

Bring beach wear and beach toys!!!

RIVER CLEAN UP

Gather at Nishi Kasai Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 14:30, and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the banks for about about 3 hours.

If you come late, it will be about a 25 min. walk to our location near the Kasaibashi Bridge. Call James’ (the organizer) cell phone 090-1847-5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN:

In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled. Please bring rain gear and we will take shelter (under a bridge) until any downpours let up. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled (and usually moved to a different day).

Chichibu Hike and Swim (Hanno)

Meeting Place/Time: Hanno Station ticket gate at 10:40

Train: From Ikebukuro, take the Seibu Ikebukuro (Express) Line’s 9:50 am train and get off at Hanno Station, arriving there at 10:38 am. Make sure to
get on this train as we cannot wait for the next one.

Course: Hanno Station – Mt. Tenran – Mt. Tonosu – Iruma River (Swimming & river fun) – Hanno Station

Walking time: About 3.5 hours

Please wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots), bring a lunch to eat on the mountain, and plenty of liquids.
Since we’ll be swimming in the river, also bring your swimsuit and towel.

Tokyo Green Area Walk

(1000 yen Participation Fee) (Easy Course)(We go even in light rain)

Meeting time and place: SeisekiSakuragaoka Station on the Keio Line at 9:55 am

Course: SeisekiSakuragaoka Station – Iroha Slope Park – Haramine Park –Sakuragaoka Park – Shimizudani Green Area – SeisekiSakuragaoka Station

This walking course includes a walk along a river, a couple of green areas, several parks and a couple of shrines. It’s an easy, fun walk which should last about 4 hours.

Please bring your food and drink with you.

(1) Miura Walk and Beach Fun & (2) Arakawa River Clean Up (Separate Events)

We will have about a 2 hour walk ending at the 500 meter long Miura Beach. We will walk along the beach and find a spot to park and eat, drink, go swimming and have some beach fun. There will be convenient stores near the beach.

Meeting Place/Time: Misakiguchi Station at 2:00 pm
If going from Shinagawa station, take the 12:50 Keihin Kyuko Line express train bound for Misakiguchi.  Get off at the last station (Misakiguchi). It arrives there at 13:55.

Course: Misakiguchi Station – Tree lined street – Komatsugaike Pond – Hakusan Shrine – Miura Beach – MiuraKaigan Station

Much of the walk (and the beach) is not shaded, so bring sunscreen. We will not stop for lunch.

Bring a beach mat/towel, beach ball, swimsuit, and whatever else you may want to use on the beach.

Gather at Funabori Station: 14:30
Go to the river 14:40
River Clean Up: 15:00-18:00
Relaxing riverside: 18:00-18:30

RIVER CLEAN UP

Gather at FUNABORI Station (Shinjuku Line) outside the ticket gate at 14:30, and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the river bank for about about 3 to 3 and half hours.

RAIN:

In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as we will use rain ware and take cover as necessary. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled or stopped if already in progress.

Just picked fruits are exceptionally fresher, sweeter, and more flavorful than those sold in the supermarket. You can pick fresh farm blueberries until your heart’s content. Enjoy!

Meeting place and time: Miyanohira Station at  10:55 am

Train: Be sure to arrive by this time since we will be unable to wait for the next train.  Please meet at the appointed time since we won’t be able to wait for the latecomers.

From Tachikawa Station (Oume Line towards Oume), Departure 10:05 and Oume Arrival 10:39 – (go across the platform and take the Oume line towards Okutama), Oume Departure 10:43 and Miyanohira Arrival 10:50 (10:46)

Hiking Course – Miya no Hira Station – Oume Ridge Hiking Course – Kama no Fuchi Park (swim and riverside fun on the Tama River) – Oume Station

Today’s hiking is about 3 hours.

Lovely Lavender Trip around Tokyo

(1) Lovely Lavender Trip around Tokyo

It is the largest lavender field in Japan easily accessible from Tokyo. You can enjoy seeing a carpet of lavender. The combination of the blue clear sky, Japanese rural landscape, and the purple lavender flowers are breathtakingly beautiful.

Meeting Time/Place: Tobu Tojo Line Musashi-Ranzan Station ticket gate at 2:05 pm

Course : Musashi-Ranzan Station – Sugaya Yakata Castle Ruins – Sennen-no-Sono Lavender Field – Musashi-Ranzan Station

Walking Time: A little over an hour (about 6km) plus a lot of time for sightseeing so the walk should take about 2 hours.

Ootsuki (Cliff) Hiking Course

(1000 Yen, Intermediate, Canceled in case of rain)

Meeting Place/Time: Ootsuki Station (Chuo Line) Ticket Gate 10:57 am

Train: From Takao Station, take the Chuo Line train (going towards Ootsuki)at 10:19.
This arrives at Ootsuki at 10:55.

Trains are not running frequently and we can’t wait for the next train.  Please come at the appointed time since we won’t be able to attend to latecomers.

Course: Ootsuki Station – Mt. Iwadono – Chigootoshi Cliffs – Ootsuki Station

Walking time: about 4 hours.
Walking Distance: About 10 km

Please wear appropriate shoes for a hike and bring lunch to eat on the mountain, and plenty of liquids.
