Walking Time: About 3 Hours (8KM) plus a lot of time for fun

Meeting Place/Time: JR Ohme Line’s Kori Station’s Ticket Gate at 9:50 am

Train: Trains are running infrequently and we won’t be able to attend to the latecomers. Please make sure to come to the meeting place by the appointed time.

Oume Departure on the JR Oume Line – 9:14, Kori Arrival – 9:47

Hiking Course: Kori Station – Oonara Pass – Okutama Station – Party (near Mitake Station)

Walking time: About 4 hours.

Please bring your lunch and drinks.

★About the party

After the hike, a friend of Jambo (Ian), who lives in Mitake, will have an outdoor party only for those who join the hike on this day.  His place is about a 20 minute walk from Mitake Station.  After the hike, those who want to go to the party can get some food/drinks at the small store in Okutama (before going to Mitake).

– This party will be only for those who participate in the hike on this day.
– The party will be from about 4 pm – 6 pm
– It’s a potluck (BYO), so people are asked to bring food and drink (we’ll try to limit bringing junk food) for themselves and to share with others.
– People are asked to bring drinks including alcohol.
– Ian will kindly provide some appetizers (this won’t be a main meal), so for those who want to enjoy these, the cost will be shared among those who eat.

Meeting time and place: 10:32 am at the exit of Fujino station.

Train: Since trains are running infrequently and we need to start a hike as scheduled, we can’t wait for the next train and attend to the latecomers.  Please make sure to arrive at the meeting place by the appointed time.

Take the following train: JR Chuo Line Takao Station Departure 10:18 am (towards Ootsuki) – Fujino Arrival 10:30

Hiking course: Fujino Station – Mt Jinba  (nice views of Mt. Fuji in good weather) – Sagamiko Station
The total walking time for the hike will be about 5 hours.

Bring your own lunch and beverages.  Please wear shoes appropriate for hiking.

 

2) Game Time

It’s a casual board game event. Let’s play various games
together.  It’s OK to come late or leave early. Feel free to join us.

Course: Keikyu Tomioka station → Tomioka Hachiman Park → Hakkeijima pedestrian bridge → Ocean park → Nojima Park → Meiji Constitution Monument → Shomyoji Temple → Kanazawa Bunko Station

Walking time: About 3.5 hours

2) Edogawa River Clean Up

Gather at Myoden Station: 13:00

Relaxing riverside: 17:00
Return to station: 17:30

Gather at Myoden Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate at 13:00, and then go to the Edogawa River and pick up trash along the banks for about about 3.5 to 4 hours.

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location on the opposite side of the river from the Clean Spa under the bay front bridges. Just walk to the river from the station and the  head to the orange bridge. Also call James’ (the organizer) cell phone 090-1847 5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled as we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean up under cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent areas using rain ware. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled.

FOE Environmental Project

Environmental Restoration Project with Friends of theEarth

Meeting Place and time: 9:47 am at Utsugidai Bus Stop
Those who wish to go with David,  please meet at Hino Station (on the Chuo Line) ticket gate at 9:27.  We will take the 9:32 bus from there (15 minutes).

Work hours: 10:00 – 15:30
 (Chopping wood, cutting down bamboo grass, picking tea leaves)

Please wear long pants and long-sleeved shirt and exercise shoes. Please bring your own drinks, food (for lunch) and work gloves.

Train: We can’t wait for the next train and attend to latecomers.  Please make sure to come at the meeting place by the appointed time.

From Hanno Station, take the 9:32 Seibu Chichibu Line train (going towards Seibu Chichibu) and take it to  Seibu Chichibu Station (the last stop), arriving at 10:25.

Course:  SeibuChichibu Station – 3 shrines on the pilgrimage path – Chichibu Muse Park (with a spring and observation tower) –  Seibu Chichibu Station

The hiking time is about 5 hours.

The MusePark is a huge, forested park with a network of hiking courses.  Please bring lunch and drinks.

Finally, if you want, you can go to the hot springs which is near the station.

Kisarazu Hill Hiking

Odayama Park is called Forest of Love. Let’s enjoy climbing Odayama (44m) and visiting one of the largest outlet malls.

Meeting Time/Place:  10:00 am at JR Uchibo Line Kisarazu Station ticket gate

Course : Kisarazu Station – Odayama Park (Kimisarazu Tower, Former Anzai Family House) – Kisarazu Station -bus- Mitsui Outlet Park Kisarazu

Walking Time: Half an hour (2km) plus a lot of time for sightseeing so
the walk should take about 2 hours.
