Nori’s Hike and New Game & BYO Party (Daytime Participation Fee – 1000 yen: Party fee – 500 yen (includes veggies, meat, fish for the BBQ))

Meeting time/place: 10:35 AM Kounanndai Station of the JR Negishi line ticket gate
Leave Shinagawa Station on the 09:47am Keikyu line, arriving in Yokohama at 10:05. Transfer there to the 10:12 JR Negishi line train and go to Kounandai, arriving at 10:34

Please wear good shoes for about 4 hours walk and bring some lunch and drink.       
       
Course: Kounanndai → Segami community woods →Segani pond→ Momiji bridge→ Itachi river→ Earth plaza→ Hongoudai Sta

15:00 ~17:00 Earth plaza Team game. in the Information Forum (4 desks and 30 chairs)
          Doing a well known game from the US – ” Wheel of fortune”
          You can guess idioms or country names when you see the pictures
          about African life, people, nature, the food for 1 week and so on.
          The worst team will have a penalty game.

If you’re only joining the party (not the hike), meet at the JR Tsurumi east exit ticket gate at 18:00

BYO Party in a large, 11F riverside apt. in Tsurumi, where David’s friend Clyde lives.
We will have a lot of fun there. Party fee – 500 yen (includes veggies, meat, fish for the BBQ).
Please bring whatever snacks and drinks you want. We can buy food and drink near Tsurumi Sta.

Chichibu Hike & Cosmos/Chrysallis Flower Fields

Meet at the ticket gate of Koma Station at 10:13AM or at the front car of the 8:50 train at Ikebukuro.
From Ikebukuro Station, take the Seibu Ikebukuro Line train (express) at 9:05AM to Hanno Station (arriving at 10:01) and change there to the Seibu Chichibu Line (just across the platform), leaving at 10:04 .  This arrives at Koma station at 10:11.

Walking time – about 4 hours – Koma Station – Mt Bukken – Mt. Hiwada – Kinchakuda (fields of Cosmos & Chrysallis) – Alishan Organic Restaurant – Koma Station

This hike finishes off at Kinchakuda (a beautiful field of Cosmos & Chrysallis flowers) and you can eat at the Organic Natural food restaurant “Alishan” (where the people who camped out can leave their things).

Bring your lunch and plenty of liquids. 

Please don’t forget to bring a rucksack for your food/drinks and wear exercise shoes!

Camping in Chichibu

We will camp on a small river behind the ALISHAN Natural Foods Restaurant near Koma Station. We must have our own tents. If you have a tent and have extra space in the tent, or if you want to join but don’t have a tent, please let me know, and I’ll try to arrange things. There is a convenient store near to the station to buy drinks and food. From Ikebukuro, take the 18:40 Seibu Ikebukuro Line Express, which arrives in Hanno at 19:28. Change trains there, to the Seibu Chichibu Line’s 19:45 train and take it to Koma Station, arriving at 19:51. Please don’t miss this train.

OKUTAMA SWIMMING, River Walk, Canoeing, BBQ

From Shinjuku, take the Special Holiday Express train going towards Okutama (it’s the Chuo Line but may be on another track which is not the main Chuo Line track – BE CAREFUL!) to Okutama (leaving Shinjuku at 8:47 and arriving at Okutama at 10:24). 

David will be at the Okutama Station ticket gate at 10:27  to bring you to the supermarket and the river. We’ll hike to Shiromaru (about 1.5 hours), where we will meet others for a BBQ, canoeing, and swimming.  Very laid back day!!! (The supermarket in Okutama doesn’t have much so feel free to bring food for the BBQ from Tokyo.)

Forest Restoration Project in Okutama (Hatonosu) & Camping

Contents:  Cutting down bamboo grass (however, there’s a possibility that other outdoor work will be done)
We will meet at the Hatonosu Station Ticket gate at 9:35AM .  Take the Oume Line train from Tachikawa at 8:20AM .  This arrives at Oume (the last stop) at 8:55 .  Cross the platform and take the 8:56 (Okutama bound) train.  This arrives at Hatonosu at 9:32AM .

David and other JAMBO members will take part in this project which is put on by the Tama Forest /” Great Nature School ” (my terrible translation) Office.  RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED as soon as possible and the number of people is limited.  If interested, please look up the detailed information and how to reserve on their homepage( http://hatonosu.blog39.fc2.com/ ) (only in Japanese)

OKUTAMA CAMPING & RIVER FUN

(Cancelled in case of rain)(Camping fee 700 yen)

The Hikawa Campground is about a 10 minute walk from the station. We’ll buy food and drink at the nearby supermarket, go swimming, and enjoy the starry sky. If you have your own tent, no reservation is necessary. If you need to borrow a tent or want to stay in a bungalow there, you must contact the Okutama Hikawa Cammpground at 0428-83-2134 to reserve.

David will be at the Okutama Station ticket gate at 16:23 to bring you to the supermarket and the campground. From Tachikawa, take the 15:05 Oume Line train (going towards Oome), arriving in Oome at 15:39. Change to the Oume Line, going towards Okutama, leaving at 15:46 and arriving at Okutama (the last stop) at 16:23. We’ll meet at the ticket gate at 16:25.

Int’l Friendship Sushi Party

From 6:30-9:30pm at the Polygon (behind the Oriental Bazaar on Omotesando)

For JAMBO members, the cost is 3,000 yen for men and 3,000 yen for women w/reservation (or plus 500 yen if you go directly without making a reservation). 

All beer, wine, cocktails, sot drinks + sushi buffet, garden salad, veggies, cheeses, breads, and pies for dessert included.

Half of your admission fee will be donated to Tikondane (ZAMBIA) http://www.tikondane.org/ – This is a place educating nurses and teaching literacy.  There are also various income generating activities such as the garden and  skill training initiatives, as well as important community development work. Tikondane is a gem for the tourist interested in finding the real Africa.

So you can have an enjoyable evening and help a good cause at the same time. If you’d like to go with David, please meet at Exit A1 of Omotesando Station 
at 6:15PM on the 8th.

Hamura Adventure Course & Swim!

Meet at the ticket gate of Hamura Station (on the Oume Line) at 10:50AM .  

From Shinjuku, take the Chuo Line (Special Express going towards Takao) at 9:51 , arriving at Tachikawa Station at 10:17AM.  Change to the 10:25 Oume Line train, arriving at Hamura Station at 10:49.

David will get on the front of the Chuo Line train at Nakano at 10:56AM.

Chuo Line Yanagawa Hiking & Swimming

Meeting Place/Time: Yanagawa Station ticket gate at 10:45AM

If the weather is hot and humid, we will do a short 2 hour return course from Yanagawa Station and then swim in the river in the afternoon. If it’s relatively cool outside, we will do a 5 hour loop course up to Mt. Kuratake.
Then, we will relax on the Yanagawa River in the afternoon.
You can stroll along the river and swim into a gorge.
You can also just skip the hike and hang out on the river all day.

Please bring your lunch and drink.

JAMBO+BANTUS Ocean Day garbage clean-up & Capoeira Event

Chigasaki – Enoshima Hike/Capoeira/Garbage Clean-up/Beach Fun (Swimming)

To celebrate Ocean Day, we’ll have a beach garbage clean up and a Capoeira workshop organized by Bantus (http://jp.bantus.org).

This event is non-smoking.

Bring your own beverages and lunch.

We meet at Chigasaki Station (on the JR Tokaido Line) at 10:30AM.
Take the 9:19AM Odakyu Line train from Shinjuku (going towards Fujisawa). This arrives at Fujisawa at 10:17AM. Switch to the 10:22 JR Tokaido train going to Chigasaki, arriving there at 10:29.

Leszek will get on the front car of the Odakyu Line train at Shimokitazawa (so ride there if you want to go together) and on the front car of the Tokaido Line train at Fujisawa.

COURSE:
Chigasaki Station – Chigasaki Beach – Tsujido Nishi Hama (Frisbee, Garbage Clean-up, Beach fun) – Tsujido Kaihin Park (Capoeira Session) – Kugenuma Kaigan station (Sunset & Party)

Walking time: About 3 hours, garbage pick-up (1 hour), Capoeira (2 hours)
