★ Location: Okutama Hikawa Campground
If you are joining us on a walk earlier in the day, we will check-in to the campsite before 4 pm. There are lockers at Okutama station.

★ Reservations
Deadline for reservation : 12:00 noon on June 13 (Thursday) – up to 15 people

Please make sure to inform Miki at seitansai1335@yahoo.co.jp once your reservation has been placed. For those who reserve, Miki will contact the campground to let them know they are part of the same group (so we can be together). There is a limit of 15 people per group according to the campground rules. Also, the campground does fill up so the earlier you reserve the better. We will announce here that we are no longer accepting reservations once the number reaches 15.
★ Food and Equipment
Each individual is responsible for their own food (including preparation) and equipment. Please make sure to bring and prepare for your own food/items for this day. There is a convenience store located about 15 minutes’ walk from the campground. The campground also offers a variety of rental items. ★ Cancellation Policy
A cancellation fee will be charged starting 7 days before the date of use. Please make sure to check the details on the campsite’s website and take note that the timing of your reservation and corresponding cancellation fees are your own personal responsibility.

1) Oze Asian Skunk Cabbage Hike
(Intermediate level)(Postponed in case of rain)(¥1000 Participation Fee)
The largest highland marshland is known for alpine plants such as the Asian skunk cabbage. The threshold is a bit far, but this course is good even for children and seniors.

Those who wish to go with David, please meet at Hino Station (on the Chuo Line) ticket gate at 9:27. We will take the 9:32 bus from there (15 minutes).

Please wear long pants and long-sleeved shirt and exercise shoes. Please bring your own drinks, food (for lunch) and work gloves.

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at NISHI KASAI Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket
gate, and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the
banks
for about 3 5 to 4 hours with a break in the middle.
WHAT TO BRING
Wear old clothing that you do not mind getting dirty, and please wear
long pants. Bare legs are not recommended because they can easily get
cut from objects like cut river reeds. Also, a hat is
recommended,
especially during the summer months, and please bring lots
of liquids
to
drink. Bringing gloves is also recommended but we
usually
have
some
extra pairs available to loan out.

If you come late, it will be about a 25-30 min. walk to our location
on
the island under the elevated C2 highway walking from
the
Kasaibashi
Bridge under the Tozai Line bridge to the end of the
pod

2) Shinagawa Firefly Watching

You can watch fireflies in Shinagawa. High schoolers are raising fireflies in this small place.

According to tomorrow’s weather forecast, the rain is expected to stop early in the morning, so we plan to go ahead with the hike as scheduled.

Course: JR Torisawa Station – Mt. Ougi (1138 m) – JR Torisawa Station
Hiking time: about 4.5 hours
The top of Mt. Ougi is very spacious with a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji if the weather is good.
Please bring your lunch and drink. Also, please wear the proper shoes for a hike.
