Meeting Place &Time: Exit 1 of Hiroo Station (Hibiya Line) Ticket Gate at 11:45 am

Course:
12:00 – 13:00 Walk around Arisugawa-no-Miya Memorial Park (Japanese Maple trees) and have lunch
13:00 – 14:00 Walk to and through the Aoyama Cemetery
14:00 – 15:45  Walk to and through the famous Ginkgo Tree lined street at Gaien
OPTIONAL
16:15 – Nogi Shrine (beautiful fall colors)
16:45 – Roppongi Midtown Christmas Illumination
17:15 – FINISH

Walking distance is about 5km. This is a short, easy walk.

2) Fall Color Walk in Ogikubo

(¥1000 Participation Fee) (Cancelled in case of heavy rain)

Have a blast with fall color. Otaguro Park is a lovely layout, with viewing pavilions, stone bridges, a pond, a waterfall, and a variety of color. Then you will find Kadokawa Garden and Gengi Sanbo Suginami Poetry House (a modern Sukiya-style Japanese house, designated as a national tangible cultural asset). The residence of Kadokawa Genyoshi, the founder of Kadokawa Shoten Publishing & Co., is open to the public. Tekigai Villa, the residence of former Prime Minister Konoe Fumimaro, was used to hold a number of important meetings in an attempt to avoid war with the US.

Course: Ogikubo Station – Amanuma Overpass – Aurora Monument – Gandhi Statue – Seiko Lodging – Otaguro Park – Kadokawa Garden/Gengi Sanbo – Tekigaiso Park – Chudoji Temple – Yosano Park – Meiji Emperor’s Gate – Ogikubo Station

3) Arakawa River Clean Up

Organized by Tokyo River Friends

SCHEDULE
Gather at Nishi Kasai Station: 13:00
Gather riverside 13:30
Finishing up: 17:30

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at NISHI KASAI Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate, and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the banks for about about 3 5 to 4 hours.

If you come late, it will be about a 25 min. walk to our location not far from the Kasaibashi Bridge in the upstream direction. Call James’ (the organizer) cell phone 090-1847 5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN:
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled. Please bring rain gear and we will take shelter (under a bridge) until any downpours let up. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled (and usually moved to a different day).
