Meeting Place and time: 9:47 am at Utsugidai Bus Stop Those who wish to go with David, please meet at Hino Station (on the Chuo Line) ticket gate at 9:27. We will take the 9:32 bus from there (15 minutes).
Work hours: 10:00 – 15:30 (Splitting wood, carrying logs, looking for/digging up bamboo shoots) Please wear long pants and long-sleeved shirt and exercise shoes. Please bring your own drinks, food (for lunch) and work gloves.

(2) Yanesen Azalea Walk (Easy)
(¥1000 Participation Fee) (Cancelled in case of heavy rain)
There are plenty of old temples and old buildings from the Edo Period still standing in Yanesen. The azalea garden at Nezu Shrine has over 3,000 flowers and 100 varieties of Azalea that bloom from early April until early May. Bunkyo Azalea Festival will be held on a reduced scale.
☆Meeting Time/Place: 15:00 JR Nippori Station north ticket gate
☆Course: Nippori Station – Yanaka Ginza – Zenshoan Temple – SCAI THE BATHHOUSE – Shitamachi Museum Annex – Nezu Shrine – Nezu Station
☆Walking Time: About 1 hour (3km) plus a lot of time for shopping and sightseeing so the walk should take about 2 hours.
☆You can buy food and drink on the way.

(3) Arakawa River Clean Up
Gather at Funabori Station: 13:00
Gather riverside: 13:30

CleanUp: 13:00-17:30
RIVER CLEAN UP Gather at FUNABORI Station (Shinjuku Line) outside the ticket gate at 13:00, and then ngo to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the river bank for about about 3.5 to 4 hours.

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location between the Shinjuku Line train bridge and the Kasaibashi Bridge. Also call James (the organizer) cell phone 090-1847 -5075 if there are any problems finding us.
RAIN
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled. Please bring rain gear and we will take shelter (under a bridge) until any downpours let up. . In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled (and usually moved to a different day).
