1) Environmental Project at Tama Zoo
(Cancelled in case of 70% or more chance of rain)

Meeting place and time: 9:30 am at the front main entrance of Tama Zoo’s Station (Tama Dobutsukoen).

Cost: FREE

Work hours : The main type of work are cutting down bamboo grass. 9:30 am – 3:00 pm

If you would like to participate, please inform David by June 22 (Thursday) at jambodave@green.email.ne.jp so that we can get volunteer insurance.

If you join this event, please bring the following: Long sleeved shirt and long pants (not shorts), work gloves, towel, and appropriate shoes (trekking shoes or hiking boots) are required.

Please bring whatever you want to eat for lunch, and drinks during the work project.

 

2)  Hydrangea Galore – Green Course Walk
(FREE) (Canceled in case of rain)(Easy Course)

Meeting Place and Time: TamaDoubutsuKoen Station (Keio Doubutsuen Line) ticket gate at 3:30 pm

Course:  Tama-Dobutsu-KoenStation – Katarai Path – Takahatafudo-son Temple (7500 hydrangeas of 20 different species) – Takahatafudo Station (Keio Line)

Walking Time: About 2 Hours (5 km)

3) Arakawa River Clean Up

Gather at Funabori Station: 14:30
Gather riverside:  15:00
River CleanUp: 15:00-19:00

RIVER CLEAN UP
Gather at FUNABORI Station (Shinjuku Line) outside the ticket gate at 14:30, and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the river bank for about about 3.5 to 4 hours.

ADDITIONAL INFO
If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location between the Shinjuku Line train bridge and the Kasaibashi Bridge. Also call James (the organizer) cell phone 090-1847 -5075 if there are any problems finding us.

RAIN
In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be cancelled. Please bring rain gear and we will take shelter (under a bridge) until any downpours let up. . In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled (and usually moved to a different day).
