Meeting Time & Place: 9:20 am at Agano’s ticket gate

Train: The train is not running frequently.  Since this time the hike will be long (we will start on time), we cannot accommodate late arrivals and will not be able to wait for the next train, so please make sure to arrive by the specified time.

For those going from Ikebukuro, take the following train: Ikebukuro Departure – Seibu Ikebukuro (Express) Line’s 7:54 train (going towards Hanno), Hanno Arrival – 8:49, Hanno Departure (Seibu Chichibu Line going towards Mitsumineguchi) – 8:56, Agano Station Arrival – 9:17.

Course (from Agano Station): Kaburi Pass – Kasasugi Pass – Kuroyama Santaki –  Ogose Station (on the Tobu Tojo Line)

Walking Time: About 6 hours

Note: Kuroyama Santaki was once a training center for monks who practice asceticism, but now it has become a sightseeing spot for hikers.

Please wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots), bring a lunch to eat on the mountain, and plenty of liquids.

Gather at FUNABORI Station (Shinjuku Line) outside the only ticket
gate,
and then go to the Arakawa River and pick up trash along the
banks for
about 3.5 to 4 hours.

If you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to our location at

 dirty angle between the Shinjuku train line bridge and the
Kasaibashi
 Bridge but much closer to the Shinjuku train line bridge.

RAIN
In the event of light or medium rain, this event will NOT be
cancelled. Please bring rain gear and we will take shelter (under
a
bridge) until any downpours let up. In the event of heavy rain/strong
winds (e.g., typhoon conditions) or lightning, then the event will be
cancelled (and usually moved to a different day).

Gather at Myoden Station (Tozai Line) outside the only ticket gate,
and
then go to the Edogawa River and pick up trash along the banks for
about 3.5 to 4 hours

 Clean Center (incineration plant) and the Clean Spa. First walk
to the
Myoden Bridge, cross it, and enter the riverside path on the
embankment.
Then head in the direction of Tokyo Bay until you see us
along the water

RAIN

In the event of light or medium rain this event will NOT be
cancelled
as we will move to and from the river by car and we can clean
up under
 cover the bay front bridges as a Plan B as well as adjacent
areas using
 rain ware. In the event of heavy rain/strong winds (e.g.,
typhoon
 conditions) or lightning then the event will be cancelled.

Shonandaira Hiking & Ocean Clean Up

Meeting place and time: Ooiso Station ticket gate at 10:25 am

Train : From Yokohama Station, take the 9:46 JR Tokaido Line (towards Atami).  This arrives at Ooiso station at 10:22.

Course : JR Ooiso Station – Mt. Sengen – Shonan Daira Lookout (lunch) – Takada Park – Terugasaki Coast (Clean Up 2:00-4:00)  – JR Ooiso Station (about a 7 km walk)

Shonan Daira has a 360 degree observation park where you can clearly see Mt. Fuji and the ocean at the same time. Bring your lunch, drink.

Our tour explores a landmark, registered tangible cultural property and Good Design Award winners.

☆Course: Kichijoji Station –  Makotochan House  – The Row Kichijoji – NOZOMIO Kichijoji – Old Akaboshi Tetsuma Residence – VILLA KANON – Merryland Education Research Institute – Kichijoji Petite Village – Kichijoji Station

☆Walking Time: About 1 hour (about 5km) plus a lot of time for sightseeing so the walk should take about 2 hours.

Those who wish  to  go with David,  please meet at Hino Station (on the Chuo Line)  ticket gate at 9:27.  We will take the 9:32 bus from there (15
minutes).

Work hours: 10:00 – 15:30
 (Carrying logs, chopping wood, raking leaves, bonenkai (?))

Please wear long pants and long-sleeved shirt and exercise shoes. Please
bring your own drinks, food (for lunch) and work gloves.

Trains are not running frequently and we won’t be able to wait for the next train.  Please make sure to meet at the appointed time since we won’t be able to attend to latecomers.

Train: 9:17 Leave Takao Station on the JR Chuo Line (going towards Kofu) – 9:25 Arrive at Sagamiko Station

We will hike from Sagami Lake to Mt. Takao (about a 4.5 hour hike).  Please bring your lunch and drink.  Also, please wear the appropriate shoes for a hike.

We will have an end-of-the-year party at a Japanese Pub (from 6:00 pm) in Shinjuku and the reservation is required.

Reservations Deadline: By December 6 (Fri) 1 pm

First 20 people will be accepted.

Kamakura Fall Colors Hiking

(Participation Fee 1000 yen and 500 yen entrance fee each for Engakuji and Meigetsuin))(Easy Course) (Cancelled in case of rain)

Meeting place and time: Kitakamakura Station East Exit (on the Yokosuka Line or JR Shonan Shinjuku Line) at 10:00 am or 11:15 am

Train : From Oofuna Station (if coming from this direction), take the 9:56 am JR Yokosuka Line (towards Zushi).  This arrives at Kitakamakura at 9:59 am

Course : Kitakamakura Station (East Exit) – Engakuji Temple – Kitakamakura Station (East Exit) – Meigetsuin – Tenen Hiking Course – Kamakuraguu Shrine – Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine – Kamakura Station

This hike isn’t difficult (about 10 km) but there is a bit of going up and down on a rocky course.
