Green Belt Movement – an organization in Kenya which works with reforestation and community development
Tikondane – An environmentally friendly, community development project in Zambia (Africa)
This month’s donations go to Friends of the Earth Japan & Tokyo River Friends, 2 wonderful groups doing environmental projects.
This month’s donations go to Ashoka & ASHOKA Japan – a global organization which finds and supports social entrepreneurs, outstanding individuals with ideas for far-reaching social change.
This month’s donations will be given to Abalimi Bezekhaya (Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA) :
This is an organization working with development and environmental restoration in Cape Flats. Cape Flats is an impoverished area outside Cape Town which was partitioned as a “Black” residential area under the apartheid regime. Due to poor management, overcrowding, and the unjust policies of the apartheid era, Cape Flats became environmentally devastated. Abalimi Bezekhaya is working to “re-green” the area by promoting gardening and tree planting efforts.
Ashinaga (Support for Orphans) – Ashinaga provides care for children and adolescents (especially children who lose their parents) hit by disasters.
Save the Children – JAMBO sponsors two children (one from the Philippines and one from Malawi in Central Africa) through this wonderful organization. The proceeds will go towards financial support of these children.
This month’s donations will be given to Global Greengrants Fund (a group that provides grants for local environmental work in Africa, Asia and other poor areas) and Global Giving (a group that provides grants for local environmentally friendly small businesses around the world).
