This month’s donations will be given to Institute for Transportation & Development Policy (An organization that supports sustainable transport around the world, especially in developing countries).

This month’s donations go to Friends of the Earth Japan, a wonderful environmental group

Abalimi Bezekhaya (Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA) – This is an organization working with development and environmental restoration in Cape Flats. Cape Flats is an impoverished area outside Cape Town which was partitioned as a “Black” residential area under the apartheid regime. Due to poor management, overcrowding, and the unjust policies of the apartheid era, Cape Flats became environmentally devastated. Abalimi Bezekhaya is working to “re-green” the area by promoting gardening and tree planting efforts.

Save the Children –  JAMBO sponsors two children (one from the Philippines and one from Malawi in Central Africa) through this wonderful organization.  The proceeds will go towards financial support of these children.

Ashinaga (Support for Tohoku Orphans) – Many children and adolescents were hit hard by the recent earthquake and tsunami. Ashinaga provides them with the care that they need.

• Green Belt Movement – an organization in Kenya which works with reforestation and community development
• Tikondane (ZAMBIA) – This is a place educating nurses and teaching literacy.  There are also various income generating activities such as the garden and  skill training initiatives, as well as important community development work. Tikondane is a gem for the tourist interested in finding the real Africa.  

SHU – The Environment NPO – does various environmental projects around Japan

Global Giving – a crowdfunding organization which supports local initiatives worldwide, working to make our world a better place

African Wildlife Foundation – a group in Africa that works to protect the environment while, at the same time, promoting the development of the local people.

World Wildlife Fund – an international organization working to preserve the world’s most precious natural resources, especially endangered animals.
