Creating Magic – That’s what the Christmas Spirit does. Everything about this season is filled with wonder – from its original story of God coming to Earth in human form to the present, which celebrates with other-worldly illuminations and the gift of giving. It transforms the darkest time of the year to a festival of lights as well as the giving of presents to others into a source of our greatest joy.

Each and every one of us has this ability to transform, to create magic in every act of giving which we carry out. In doing so, we also come to receive treasures beyond material goods – the feeling of being connected with others, and the joy and love which that brings. In the process of transforming ourselves into agents of light, we produce a positive effect on all who we come into contact with.

We, at JAMBO, are committed to living out this Christmas spirit year round, creating a spirit of joyful giving in all we do. I wish to express my sincerest appreciation to all of you who have helped to make JAMBO a source of light and hope to so many. In the hikes and outdoor programs, we witness the miracle of nature which enfolds our world. Through the hands-on environmental projects and volunteer activities as well as the money which we collect and donate to environmental and development groups, we help to make our world a better place to live. From the children JAMBO sponsors in the Philippines and Malawi (Africa) to the street child in Uganda (which we’re sending clothes to and helping to start his business) to the eco-building near Kawaguchi Lake, your donations are making a constructive impact. In effect, you are a beneficial change agent. And, most importantly, by getting personally involved, joining a hike or volunteering, you also spin a magical web of fun and goodness, creating an atmosphere of delight for yourself and others from scratch. Yes, it’s truly MAGIC!
