Cape Flats is an impoverished area outside\u00a0Cape Town which was partitioned as a &#8220;Black&#8221; residential area under the\u00a0apartheid regime. Due to poor management, overcrowding, and the unjust\u00a0policies of the apartheid era, Cape Flats became environmentally\u00a0devastated.
