1) Earth Day Bike Ride

Let\u2019s enjoy an Earth Day Bike Ride from Yoyogi Park around the city!\u00a0We will start and finish at Yoyogi Park, riding around the city.<\/p>\n

Appreciate the Earth, and Enjoy Earth Day! It has been 20 years since the first\u00a0“Earth Day & Jambo ” bike ride. Great chance to rediscover Tokyo and share memories at Yoyogi Park. \u00a0This course will pass through a host of parks while riding through many green areas of\u00a0Tokyo. \u00a0Let\u2019s explore the connection of parks while finding natural areas in the city from the cyclist\u2019s perspective. We\u2019ll enjoy getting exercise cycling, walking in the parks, playing frisbee, etc and enjoy having a picnic lunch in the city\u2019s oasis.<\/p>\n

Meeting Time and Place<\/strong>: 10:00 am at Yoyogi Park’s Central Lawn (near the fountain (shown in pink on the map)<\/p>\n

Bicycle<\/strong>: Participants are asked to bring bicycles (either their own or from a bicycle rental or share bike)<\/p>\n

If you are interested in a Bike Share Service (Docomo), \u00a0you can rent from it ONLY IF you pre-register. Check\u00a0https:\/\/docomo-cycle.jp\/tokyo\/?lang=en<\/a>\u00a0where you must register online beforehand in order to use their bikes. There are many places in the Shibuya area where you can pick up these bicycles, so please check beforehand. \u00a0For you cyclists, this is a wonderful thing to sign up on as you can pick-up\/drop-off the bikes at many locations around Tokyo<\/p>\n

Things to bring<\/strong>: Food and drink, things to play with (frisbee, ball, and so on),\u00a0ground sheet, etc.
\nYou can also buy lunch stuff for the picnic along the way.<\/p>\n

Helmets are recommended for participants.<\/p>\n

RIVER CLEAN UP
\nGather at FUNABORI Station (Shinjuku Line)\u00a0outside\u00a0the\u00a0ticket gate at 13:00, and then go to the Arakawa River and\u00a0pick up\u00a0trash\u00a0along\u3000the\u00a0river bank for about about 3.5 to 4 hours.<\/p>\n

\nIf you come late, it will be about a 25-min walk to\u00a0our\u00a0location\u00a0between the Shinjuku Line train bridge and the\u00a0Kasaibashi\u00a0Bridge. Also\u00a0call James (the organizer) cell phone 090-1847\u00a0-5075<\/strong> if\u00a0there are any\u00a0problems finding us.<\/p>\n

RAIN
\nIn the event of light or medium rain this event will\u00a0NOT\u00a0be\u00a0cancelled.\u00a0Please bring rain gear and we will take shelter\u00a0(under\u00a0a\u00a0bridge) until\u00a0any downpours let up. . In the event of\u00a0heavy\u00a0rain\/strong\u00a0winds (e.g.,\u00a0typhoon conditions) or lightning then the\u00a0event\u00a0will be cancelled (and usually moved to a different day).<\/p>\n
